This is a huge pencil. If you would like to use it as a rolling pin, then you should first season it with coconut oil or similar. This will ensure the wood is sealed and will not absorb water or oils from your dough. I have used it a few times for baking, but it really excels as a desk prop.

But I worry a little about the end with the rubber part, which is pretend I know, but the end of the pencil I do not want to be touched by pastry as after a while of using may become loose with washing. This hasn’t happened, but may do, and I doubt the “ pretend “ end attachment is safe if bits come off. Not at all a rolling pin. Too light. Just a oversized novelty pencil. Well it doesn't write anyway. It looks great and realistic.
