Incredibly durable, comfortable, and has saved us a lot of grief!
We had been searching high and low for a harness that wouldnโt limit movement, wouldnโt put pressure on the neck, and something durable as it would need to be washed frequently. After trying five very different harnesses, I was about to give up because it was apparent there were no harnesses out there that satisfied our criteria. After giving up the search, I was drafting a pattern to sew a harness and had a Zak George training video playing in the background. He was demonstrating something so I looked up and one of the puppies he was working with was wearing this harness! I hadnโt seen one quite like this before and was so impressed with how unobtrusive the harness was and how well it moved with the dog! I pored over the video description and comments and found nothing so I went through the video frame by frame and saw โGoobyโ; success!Upon receipt the harness looked and felt very well made. No loose threads and no frayed/unsecured edges. We have a lot of Ruffwear products which, in regard to durability and thoughtfulness of design, have substantially outperformed everything else weโve had or looked at in person, and as crazy dog people Iโd say the majority of our income (after bills) goes toward things for our dogs. However, our puppy is growing very fast and I didnโt want to spend an obscene amount on a harness that would only last a few months (though shelters need donations like this so if you end up with products you donโt use, please consider donating!).We hike and paddleboard with our dogs a few times each month and they get into some abrasive plants that have really damaged previous harnesses and collars. We also live downtown in a busy city and want harnesses we can trust to keep our dogs secure and safe. Our puppy has severe allergies to grass and some other vegetation and requires at least three baths a week to remove these allergens from her fur, otherwise sheโll chew her skin raw. She also is taking extra time to house train as she learned in the shelter that going to the bathroom where you sleep and eat is just how it is. Due to these factors, the harness needs to be washed at least three times per week because we wanted one she would wear continuously so that we could rush her outside straightaway if she showed any signs of needing to go. This is also why we wanted a comfortable, unobtrusive harness. We tried several different designs (step-in/clip-behind, Easy Walk, the slip-on t-shirt looking ones, and the ones that have a thick panel in front) and all were clunky or itchy, leading her to chew on them or itch constantly. This one is a miracle! She doesnโt chew it while itโs on (she has attempted tug-of-war with it while Iโm trying to put it on) and she doesnโt seem bothered by it at all, unlike the others. It is durable, breathable, and very soft. We did purchase the black color, which I was worried was a bad decision in the humid triple digit summer. However, after a 30 minute walk on a 97F evening, a laser temperature gun indicated only a 7 degree difference from the black strap and the white fur next to it. The chest strap has a wide range of adjustability, which we really appreciate! Weโve gone from the smallest to the largest length in five weeks. The non-adjustable neck portion was slightly too big the first week she wore it, but the X design kept it on her shoulders and she could not slip out. Sheโs growing like a weed and it fits perfectly now with room for her to bring her neck back when playing or looking up at the squirrels that taunt her. There are now a few stray threads from her grabbing it with her sharp little needle teeth while putting it on, but the fabric weave is such that they havenโt unraveled and trimming them off is an easy fix.For background, I am a researcher in a microbiology lab working with pathogens that have the potential to infect canines and I sew as a hobby, so I am very hard on clothes when washing to sanitize after work and I have studied fabric care and quality relatively in-depth. I typically saturate the harness with Oxy Clean Max Force to aid in spore and allergen removal and this has often faded and weakened fabrics in the past. I throw the harness in the wash with our clothes 3-4 times per week and it still looks as good as new! Except for the D-ring, which has a gunmetal gray coating. I wish the D-ring had been left the silver that is underneath the coating so that it didnโt look worn, but if thatโs the only issue we have that says quite a lot as this harness has been through the ringer! The only other downside is the big white Gooby text on the backโeveryone thinks that is her name. Weโve actually started calling her Gooby as a joke because everyone who meets her says โhi Goobyโ.We are so sad that she is about to completely outgrow this harness and wish they made larger sizes (please consider this!). We donโt even like our seventy-dollar Ruffwear harness this much as it puts a lot of pressure on the neck when our big guy is lying down, and the panels are so thick they hold in a fair amount of heat. He also lost a lot of weight during chemotherapy and we had to buy a new one as it wasnโt adjustable enough. Iโm looking to sew my own version, but I donโt have the machines that would allow the professional seam work this harness has. Iโm just going to cross my fingers and hope Gooby decides to extend their size range to include 80 lb deep chested dogs! I would highly recommend this harness to everyone and because it is such a high quality at a low price point I will be including it in the care packages I give to friends with new dogs.Tl;dr: This harness takes the abuse of a clumsy puppy like a champ and holds up to 3-4x weekly washing with extra hot water on the โsanitaryโ cycle, which has destroyed other items. It seems to be very comfortable (thin, breathable, broad straps so that pressure isnโt concentrated when restraining), doesnโt hinder movement in an active puppy, and the back strap has a large adjustability range for dogs gaining or losing weight. It is comparable to Ruffwear products which, in 22 years of owning dogs, has been our golden standard for performance and durability. Overall this harness has made training during puppyhood less stressful because she can keep the harness on at all times and it is very secure, so we donโt have to worry about her slipping out and running into traffic.

No escaping, non-choking reflective harness fits great.
Great for my small terrier! Doesn't choke her when she pulls. Easy to put on, very sturdy material. This harness she has not escaped from! Leash attach ring is plastic but seems to be strong. The reflective material helps us be seen at night!. Great value for money.

Comfort and safety for my pet
Our fur baby just recently got diagnosed with Tracheal Collapse, and the veterinary suggested a harness fit for dogs with this condition. This harness works great, it pulls around the chest not the neck/trachea. It is very easy to put on but have to admit it took me some time to get used to it, because the pull leash goes clips on her back. In essence because it clips on the back I have my dog walk in front of me, I think it's much more comfortable for her, the other way it seems like I'm constantly pulling. All in all, it's a great harness for my dog!!

Well worth the money
This is a great harness itโs adjustable and it fits great . Itโs well worth the money . The only thing I would change would be that it doesnโt move when walking because I was looking for something that didnโt move close to the throat

Great design and well made
I tried several harnesses for my 13-lb Papillon, but none of them worked for her until I found this one. The fit was great--no pressure on her neck (she has a collapsing trachea) and I was able to easily adjust the straps to fit her. I tried this version and the Gooby step-in version but ultimately, opted for this one since the fit was better on her (totally dependent on your dog's shape). Aside from the V-neck design which takes pressure off the neck, I was looking for something lightweight. Many of the other harnesses I tried were too stiff and bulky. The mesh fabric is perfect--soft and comfortable. The binding on the edges protects against ripping. The straps are sturdy and once I adjusted them, they stayed put (the adjusters on some of the other harnesses I tried kept slipping). Another feature I like is that the loop on the back (where you thread through the strap) is designed to move to the left or right so that the harness itself stays straight even when your dog is to the side of you. For our needs, the most important feature is that when she pulls against the leash, the harness doesn't ride up her neck and press against her trachea. She's not able to wiggle her way out of it either. Our vet was very impressed with this harness, both for its fit and design. My only complaint is that I don't like the fastener. For people with arthritis or poor hand strength, it can be very difficult to squeeze the buckle enough to get it to release. Also, it lands right behind my dog's front leg; I'd like to see it come up higher on the side, which would also make it easier to buckle. Overall, though, this is a great harness and I highly recommend it.

Not quite right
The design is good in theory but the sizing and dimensions aren't quite right. I have a pretty broad chested dog so I ordered the XL based on the size chart. The strap fit fine, but the mesh front part was way too big. I then tried a L, and the front part fit perfect but the strap wasn't long enough to click closed. Might work for some dogs but not mine. Material also doesn't feel super sturdy so I wouldn't trust it if your dog pulls alot.

Harness keeps them safe, but doesnโt choke the dog!!
These dog harnesses have been great, very comfortable for the dogs, no choking, feels secure when they try to run around, and make me feel secure that they are going to remain safely on the end of my leash.

We love Gooby
I love these artists for my small dogs. It was not available in an extra small so the neck is super roomie. Because of the way theyโre designed they canโt get out. I love the Gooby harnesses.

Excellent for tzus
Excellent packaging and delivery. The harness is great to avoid damage due to pulling during walks.

Good idea but poor fit
I was so pleased to find this NO CHOKE type of harness for our Yorki who suffers from the beginnings of tracheal collapse, which , as most Yorki owners are aware, is a common problem in this breed. I ordered a small at first as my 7 lb Yorki normally takes an extra small in other brands. Unfortunately, I had to return it as it was too small even when I extended the belly strap to its largest size. So I ordered a Medium which sort of fits when I adjust the belly strap as small as I can. It looked ok on him but was a bit lose on the shoulders and when I took him for a walk it was really gapping on the shoulder straps but seemed to stay on ok so we left it on him over night but when he woke up in the morning his left front paw had come right out and the strap was now behind it. I checked it and the belly strap had come loose so I tightened it back up. Iโm leaving it on him for now but if it comes off again Iโll have to send it back. Too bad because the concept is a good one but the manufacturer needs to go back to the drawing board and fit it on some real Yorkies.

Great harness, comfortable and secure, would highly recommend
Except harness, crosses lower down than any we have seen, ensuring that the throat area is not crushed as can be the case with many of the others we have tried, but it is still comfortable and importantly secure, lightweight and breathable materials make it a great buy for any dog that tends to pull on occasion. Would highly recommended!

Ottima e resistente
La mia canina ha un problema di palato molle e avevo bisogno di una pettorina che evitasse la pressione sul palato e con questa mi sono trovata veramente veramente bene

Works well to eliminate choking
I am happy with this harness, although my dog can still pull, it doesn't cause her to gag when walking normally. However when she sees a squirrel and tries to run, it does seem to pull across her lungs and causes breathing difficulties and choking sounds but that is not the fault of the harness. The harness works as advertised. My mini poodle mix weighs almost 22 lbs and the XL fits her perfectly.
