Functionality and flavor are both good
I have specific health needs that require a high-protein, low-calorie diet, and this protein powder works perfectly as a breakfast meal replacement. I typically mix one scoop with 12 oz of 2% Fairlife milk and 8 oz of cold brew, which totals around 40 grams of protein. On its own, it provides 22 grams of protein per serving, making it easy to use multiple times a day to meet macro goals, even with just water. The flavor isn’t too sweet, and it adds a nice richness without a chalky texture. It also keeps me full from breakfast until my 1:00 PM lunch, even when I start my workday at 8:30 AM. For best results, I recommend using a good mixer bottle. My favorite is the Helimix 22 oz. That said, the powder dissolves well and doesn’t clump, making it easy to mix. Overall, this is a great choice for anyone looking to add quality protein to their diet without unnecessary calories or unpleasant textures.

Overall an excellent product I regularly buy
There is a biological difference between casein-based and whey-based protein. I find that whey protein is less viscous when mixed with the same qty. of liquid than casein, so depending on your preference you might want to consider adding 1-2 more oz. of your liquid, otherwise it can be a little pastey, similar to the consistency of drinkable yogurts. Having purchased other brands before, I find the Optimum Nutrition brand line to be more favorable for casein products. The creamy vanilla flavor doesn't taste as chemically as other brands, but it is a bit more sweet than other brands I previously tried. I overcome this by using about 9 oz. of cold coffee with which to mix with the powder. The combination between creamy vanilla and coffee is a quite balanced flavor, and if you use caffeinated coffee you get an extra jolt. Recognize that casein is not intended (ideally) to be used right after a strength workout, b/c of the organic nature of how casein slowly enters your bloodstream. I prefer to use it in the morning when I wake up to supplement a very light breakfast, which helps keep the edge off until lunch.

Tasty and Gentle Protein Supplement
I tried Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Casein Powder for about a few months now, and overall, I'm quite pleased with it. While I was a bit disappointed that the container wasn't completely filled, the powder itself exceeded my expectations in other areas. It tastes really good, especially when mixed with lactose free milk, soy or oat milk, it doesn't cause any stomach discomfort, which is a big plus for me. The sustained release of protein throughout the night has helped in my muscle recovery after workouts. Despite the initial concern about the quantity, the quality and effectiveness of the product make it a worthwhile purchase. If you're looking for a protein supplement that tastes great, is gentle on the stomach, and supports muscle recovery, give Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard Casein Powder a try.

Good Source of Protein. East Digestion. Mixes well.
My doctor told me to get more protein into my diet, so I decided to try this. The taste is very good and it mixes into water & milk very well. Mixes in much better than whey protein. This is the vanilla and I am not a big fan of vanilla, but this is good. Carbs & sugar content is minimal, so this does not effect my blood sugar adversely. No problems with digestion or upset stomach. Could be used as a meal substitute, I suppose. I just wish it were less expensive.

Essential part of recovery
For too long I had relied solely on whey protein to help build muscle, especially after intense work outs. It definitely helped, but often times I would wake up the morning after not feeling that much better. In other words, I wasn't really recovering that well. I considered just doubling up on the whey, basically eating another serving before bed, but then I did some research. I figured it would benefit me to alternate the types of protein supplement, and when I added the Optimum Nutrition Casein protein, it was a game changer. I now wake up in the morning feeling back to 100%. Even though I never train the same muscle groups two days in a row, I feel as if I could. I am making a 100% recovery in less than half the time. As a side benefit, the stuff tastes amazing. I mix mine with soy milk (yeah, I drink soy, get over it) and shot of light cream, after reading that a modest amount of fats help the body absorb large amounts of protein. Anyways, the vanilla is a very deep and satisfying flavor. To change it up I sometimes add some cinnamon powder, or some nutmeg and ground clove. On top of that, I eat it just before bed, and I am never super hungry in the morning, and I have eliminated my midnight snack routine. I use a hand crank egg beater to mix this stuff up, because even a little bit quickly turns into a thick mixture, sort of like wet concrete. It needs way more liquid to dissolve into than whey protein powder. Sometimes I also throw in some Greek style yogurt, but this stuff is thick enough already. The labeling says something about how Casein behaves differently when it hits the acid in the stomach, and that it expands, and you see this when you mix it up. If you have been missing something in the protein department, I would absolutely try this Casein. PROS: + Tastes awesome. + Fills you up, you feel satisfied, and won't be hungry for quite a while after. + A little powder goes a long way. + Slow absorption. CONS: - More expensive than most whey protein powders, but that's common to Casein.

Consistency is Thick
It is very thick so you have to add lot of water but then it becomes in huge quantity. Check your shaker size before ordering it. Taste is average but it does keep you full for a long time

Great packaging, great results from the product! The taste is wonderful in this, the vanilla tastes like vanilla but kind of punchy and thick which brings out that flavour even more and I love that. On a muscle building point of view, this is a great product, every night I have it, I wake up the next day in a lot less pain or no pain at all. The vitamins and minerals in it are a great addition and the macro-nutrients from it including the caloric value are just perfect for me. Although I get a little bloated when I have it, I'm completely back to my normal stomach in the morning so no issues there as I can't tell when I'm sleeping. This is definitely must have product and especially this flavour over the rest. I've tried the other flavours and few other brands and till now this has been the best overall for price and results.
