It's a good product but it appears to be shorter as my tailgate doesn't open to level with the bed of the truck now. My original cables didn't have the shrink tubes between the cable and the hardware at the ends which allowed water to enter and rust the cables. Dodge should have realized that would happen but it was a cheap fix so I'm happy.

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab short bed. I ordered these several days ago, they arrived and using a #40 Torx I installed them in less than 10 minutes. I did use a couple of squirts of Liquid Wrench. I highly recommend the product.

We were so glad to find these cables on Amazon. The price was right, they fit perfectly, and were easy to install. It was also a plus to be able to purchase a matched set.

Doesn't last long in wisconsin.. I get about 2yrs. on them good for price. Rubber coating is already peeling off after 1 month.

Very well made set of tailgate cables. They were an exact fit on my 98 ram 2500 and look much better than the rusted and frayed stock cables. Length is exactly the same and I couldn't be happier.
