100 Photographs

I knew that many of the photographs would be familiar because they are so well known. I was not prepared for the photos that I had not seen. I am haunted, devastated, educated, emotional. I know that children get their history lessons from the Internet now but this should be a must-have in every home. It is definitely a powerful history lesson. I do wish that the photo of the starving child stalked by a bird of prey had been better positioned. The vulture was on the fold and I didn't immediately see it so some impact is lost. That's nitpicking. Overall, an awesome book.

Beautiful book!! Nice hard back. I wanted this since I found out it was released. Powerful beautiful photos. I will warn a few of the photos are quiet graphic but what was going on when they were captured is real life. I was not bothered by this. If you really appreciate photography you will love the book.

This is a great collection of photos which Time considers to be the most influential ever taken. These are not necessarily the most famous photos (there are many books published with those), but for one reason or another these are photos that shaped both the art of photography and human thought. The photos range from the first photo ever taken to the selfie Ellen orchestrated at the Oscars a couple of years ago. Along the way there are some photos that some might consider unsettling, but that is often what makes a photo influential. The fact that a photo is able to elicit strong feelings and make you think is what gives these photos a place in this book.

We bought this as a gift for a photographer friend. She LOVES it! I loved looking through it before I gave it to her. The pictures are amazing with just enough background given. Great price for a hardcover coffee table book.

A fantastic documentation of significant photographs taken since the invention of photography. This is the best non-fiction document that I have ever read. It would make a superb addition to any library - public or private!

Great book!I know this kind of selection is quite subjective and it can be unjust to others thousands of photos. But there are some great pictures and interesting contexts behind them on this book.

I teach photography and this is a great entry level book to explain how photography can be important outside of simply taking pretty pictures .

Natürlich ist so eine Auswahl immer in gewissen Maßen subjektiv. Trotzdem ist das Projekt von TIME als sehr gelungen zu bezeichnen. Zu jedem Foto findet sich ein kurzer Text mit Informationen zur Entstehung und welche Auswirkungen das Foto hatte.Leider sind die Bilder teilweise über beide Seiten des Buchs gedruckt, so dass in der Falz das Foto nur schlecht oder gar nicht zu erkennen ist. Ich hätte es besser gefunden, wenn man das Foto kleiner, dafür nur auf eine Seite gedruckt hätte. Dafür ein Stern Abzug.

Je suis étonné par l'émotion j'ai revécu en regardant ces photos.Ces photos m'avaient marqué la vie, sans que je l'apercoive.La qualité du papier, la qualité des images, les explications font ensemble un livre a garder à porter du main.J'ai reconnu beaucoup de photos, mais je connaissais pas l'histoire derriere les photos, maintenant je les connais.Si vous avez un "certain age" vous appreierez ce livre comme moi. Pour les plus jeunes, c'est un vu sur le monde avant le "selfie" le numérique et Photoshop. La photo de Dali et les chats qui volent, est une merveille qui fait preuve que tout était possible sans Photoshop.

The book is so normal, the printing and images quality is very low. There are so many great images are in the photography history but nun of them are covered , spending Rs 916 /- is useless on this stuff
