The letters are about 3 inches tall.

What material are letters made out of?

These letters are made of sturdy, durable cardboard. They have a smooth, shiny finish on them with rounded, smooth edges. They are made for 3 year olds but I bought them for my 2 year old great-grandson, who loves the alphabet and knows about half of them by now.(We also have given him an alphabet puzzle which helps to reinforce his learning.) I highly recommend them!
