When I turn on the rock light kits, it's red flashing, does the light have problem?

Light didn't have problem, red flashing means light ready for pairing, just finish pairing with APP in 3 minutes is ok.

Why I use APP pairing with light not work and the light stay in red or a certain color?

Mostly past the pairing time, if have this issue or other APP control issue, just on off whole light 3-5 times until red flashing to reset is ok.

If I don't want to use APP, could I just use remote conctrol?

Yes, you can, but please use your phone connect with APP just for one time, then when you turn on the light will not red flashing.
