Arrived with setting in the first hole.Orange slider stops before disengaging from the orange part that goes through the holes.How to change settings?

Slider should not stop before disengaging, push it out until it disengages. remove pin and set pin to desired scale, replace slider but not too tight. This is a must have tool for every artist

Question 2

How do you know how to set it? For example, if I want to make a drawing 3 times bigger than the photo or 1/3 the size of the photo, how would I set it

To set the Accurasee Proportional divider the way I do it: Take a distance, a measurement with the divider and see what this is against a ruler.  If you get 1 inch and you want 3 times bigger, you will find that hole 4 will make it 1 one inch on one side and 3 inches on the other side.  You then can make it 3 times bigger or 3 times smaller.

If you want double the size, you will find hole 6 will make it double.  Four inches on one side and eight inches on the other.  Hole 7 will make it less than double.

Question 3

I give up!  how do you move tab?  a great device but no instructions on how to move tab without breaking it!

Place the device with the split tab upper most. Use your thumb on the ridged part of the split tab and draw your thumb backwards( or towards you). Next, place your same thumb over the orange peg that is protruding through the hole in the arm of the device, and press downwards. This will release the tab, make sure the clear plastic washer is at the base of the peg. Select the new hole to insert your peg, and reverse the above procedure. Tally Ho!

Could I enlarge a picture from standard copy paper to medium size canvas?

I see no reason why you couldn't use the Divider in that context.
