Great Outdoor TV
So I got my 55-Inch Veranda TV just last week and was able to install it on Saturday easily. Hooking up both cable and Roku were simple. We just finished a complete overhaul of our backyard – new covered patio and pavers, and the TV was the final touch. We had friends over to watch the Stanley Cup finals and then the NBA finals the next day, and the picture was great. Everyone around the backyard could clearly see the action and hear the games. My daughters are already setting up movie nights with their friends. I would recommend this TV to anyone trying to create an entertainment area in their backyard.

Great picture, terrible speakers
I purchased the Sunbrite 55 inch veranda television to be used under a tiki in South Florida. The picture is terrific but the sound is not. At 100% volume, you can barely hear this TV from 10 feet away, let alone when you are having a party with any background noise. So... I looked into purchasing a weatherproof soundbar from Sunbrite FOR ($999.00!!!) Turns out, the Sunbrite soundbar WILL NOT WORK unless you add an amplifier to go with it. I called customer service to find out how much THAT would cost and they told me Sunbrite doesn't sell amplifiers! and that I should look elsewhere (they suggested amazon or a marine store OMG). Please think about this before you drop 2k on an outdoor tv that you can't hear outdoors. So disappointed.

Decently bright outdoor TV, but after a few years screen surface is peeling badly.
Generally it’s a good TV. Brighter than a typical TV, but only okay in direct sunlight (which they do say up front). Good in shade and great at night. Stands up fine to rain and temperature fluctuations. But after less than 4 years (probably started around year 2-3 and got significantly worse in year 4) the coating on the screen (anti-glare I guess?) is peeling badly. It looks cheap and makes it harder to view during the day. Has no impact at night. For something this expensive and intended for outdoors it’s pretty disappointing. I’m reaching out to their customer service to see if it’s fixable. I’ll follow up when I find out.UPDATE: The issue cannot be fixed/repaired. The entire television must be replaced. Similar to other postings, Sunbrite will ask you to send them pics, but not to see the damage (they clearly are aware of this issue and know what it looks like at this point). It's so they can see if your TV placement is in the sun, and they can hide behind their "full-shade" classification. Mine is only in the sun a few hours a day, but since I took the photos above in full-sun (for best visibility of the problem) they latched onto that in correspondence. Sunbrite doesn't advertise in any of their product information that the reason they're considered "full shade" is because the sun will actually damage this "weatherproof" TV, but once they see yours was in the sun they will say this is to be expected. So either keep it in the full shade, or just know you're spending thousands more for a television whose screen will look terrible in a few years and whose picture will then only look good at night. The best Sunbrite will do is offer you a discount on a new one, shrug their shoulders and say "we told you it was full shade". I saw that they offered others a 15% discount. They offered me 25%, then upped it to 35% when I complained further. I do not plan on buying another one of their overpriced TV's.

Sunbrite has me ready for FOOTBALL!!
Very happy with this purchase. My wife and I used to drag out an inside TV during football season but that got to be a pain taking it in and out.The TV arrived several days early (very nice). The wall mount Amazon recommend for the TV was easy to assemble and attach to the TV. Set up was pretty simple. We have an antenna and a Roku running on it and the picture looks great. Like other reviewers I agree the sound could be better but I’m planning on running a jawbone speaker through it. I can’t wait for football; this is where I’ll be living all football season.

Not a smart TV
The picture is great and hopefully will work for many years in a protected outdoor environment. However, I was dismayed that the TV is not a Smart TV and cannot access my wifi system thus limiting its use. Perhaps the newer version has this feature and I should have upgraded to the newer version? Also, the large back panel caused issues with my existing mounting bracket and I had to get a metal saw to modify my bracket as the back panel stuck out so far.

Great Purchase...Highly Recommended!
I purchased a 55" Sunbrite Veranda series TV to replace an indoor TV that I had originally installed on my screened-in and covered porch. Wow, what a difference! Not only does the Sunbrite TV have an excellent picture, it is noticeably brighter which makes a huge difference outside. On top of that, I can now rest assure that my new TV will last for many more years as it is clearly designed to handle extreme weather conditions. The design of the casing and the input bay (for coaxial, HDMIs, Ethernet, etc) is very well thought out, and I feel very confident that I no longer have to worry about moisture or other environment elements frying my TV. We have plans to expand our outdoor living spaces, and I will definitely be purchasing another Sunbrite TV when the need arises. For anyone considering purchasing once, make sure you take a look at the various series offered (Veranda, Signature, etc), as even though they are all designed for the outdoors, they have various specifications on how well they handle direct sunlight. That was probably my biggest learning during my research.
