Great for portable sketches and small cards
I love these little cards. They're not like paper or the usual cardstock, a little more like hot press board. The weight is nice, allowing it to hold up well to layers of pencil without gouging or showing on the other side. Ink does take a little longer to dry, but only about as long as gel pens, and doesn't bead up. I love this color to use with black and white charcoal, black and white ink or colored pencils. Due to its slightly "glossy" texture, I wouldn't recommend watercolor (partly because the colors might not be opaque enough to stand out) but a slightly thicker gouache would work. The size is also great for little sketches, tests and cards and wonderful to toss into my bag for whenever the mood strikes me. I like the little visible fibers that look almost like a brown paper shopping bag too.

Great size
Good quality. I use it to make Zentangle tile designs.

Good substitute
A much less expensive choice for making sense Zentangle.

I couldn't emphasize enough how good this inexpensive watercolor paper is.
I couldn't emphasize enough how good this inexpensive watercolor paper is. This is a heavyweight, 140lb, 4x4, cold press, acid-free Strathmore watercolor paper. These tile are great for all wet media and finished artwork. I think that these are perfect size, stock and anything else you can think of for my field kit. I have worked on them using water marker, alcohol marker, pan watercolors and tube watercolors without any pilling of the paper. I think that these are a great size to practice zen-tangle patterns, along with notes, Journaling, comments, and ideas. I'll personally be buying spares just in case stock runs short.

Handy size
Nice quality - even my markers don't bleed through and the fine tooth surface holds my photos securely. Handy size - I can throw it in my bag. I use it to make notes and drawings of things I want at the flea market with photos sometimes that approximate what I want with measurements of what I need or the space it needs to fill - and the pages remove as I find what I want. This has been very handy. I also have one I use for Zen doodling and have shared some of the tiles with my students in a pinch. Love it.

Worked for me.
Bought these for a specific project. Though not particularly thick paper, I'm thinking about ~75lb. I could've just bought some regular card stock and cut down to the size I wanted and have gotten thicker paper. But thickness was not a criteria for my project. They stood up fairly well to erasing, I did a bit. I liked the size. Thankfully, they were fairly inexpensive, since I went through several.

Great for drawing small doodles or Zentangles
Finding Black Artists Tiles are hard. I’ve always found Strathmore to be a good product. I was happy to find these tiles in black to use when drawing with white, neon, or pastel pens.

New Hobby!
I was looking for a new art hobby and came across 'Zentangle' projects. Love doing things like that and since it takes so few supplies of which I already have, decided to try it out. These 4" x 4" Artist Tiles are the first I've ordered and I love them! I'm usually one to "make my own" with something like this, especially as I am new to this medium, but so glad I ordered these tiles and will be ordering more in other sizes. Quality is exceptional and they arrived quickly.

Excellent cardstock
Although not made for water colour, this 4x4 paper stock is really fantastic for mixed media and zentangle. I use them to create tiny series of mixed media studies . The tan colour can be incorporated into the art piece but I usually gesso the paper and then work on it. It stands heavy, flow and high flow acrylics, water soluble crayons, water mist, drawing inks and basic hand/ machine stitching. I find that this paper is better than other similar tiles with more gsm. My only but is that these are usually a bit pricey.
