Sony SA-RS3S Wireless Rear Speakers for Soundbar

These made a world of difference in our sound system. It took a while for me to purchase them but once I did, I don't regret it. The sound quality is outstanding. I debated between these and the R5's. These are perfect for the room and soundbar that I own.

A lot of people complain in general about volume level when it comes to surround speakers. I have had various brands of speakers and primarily Onkyo receivers using mostly 5.1 setups. Nothing I would say is high end. Was watching one of the older seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix to catchup before going into the new episodes. There times that it sounded as though things were moving behind me from. Not jumping from speaker to speaker but moving say in 1.5 to 2 sec from br speaker to bl. Speakers are on the back wall and my head is about 1.5ft from back wall. I say all that to say these speakers have the ability to perform at a very effective level. No issues with connecting, sound quality or volume for a surround speaker. The audio track and receiver weigh heavily into how any speaker will sound so it can be difficult to discern rather a speaker is good. My onkyo receivers seem to put more sound to the sub. This sony subdued it just a bit. Or it could be it did it after going through the calibration process. Either way it all works very well together.

These are good quality speakers meant to be used with several models of Sony soundbars. These are sattelite speakers only to be mounted behind you. They only get their signal from Sony sounbars broadcasting via Bluetooth. They will not work without a supported Sony sound bar. They are only sattelite speakers and wont act as full stereo speakers. This means they will only produce the sound encoded onto a 5.1 or 7.1 or Dolby soundtrack. If the title of video or music you are listening to does not support rear speaker sounds or your Sony sound bar does not support them, you will hear nothing from these speakers. They are primarily to serve as rear sound soeakers only. Most Sony sound bars that support these or some TVs will also give you an extra volume control for these speakers. Look at the compatibility listing for what Sony sound bars they support to be sure you can use these. I primarily use these when watching Dolby 5.1 or Atmos movies. They often produce explosions or sounds of objects zooming by quite nicely. They also add a lot to music depth as you'll hear some instruments in front and some behind. Add a Sony subwoofer and youll be amazed at how good things sound and things you never heard in your music before. But as I said previously the great sound from these behind you only happens if the creator of the content made it in Dolby 5.1 or Atmos. Also some titles are really good at mixing the tracks so you have the greatest spatial experience. But get a studio or artist mix who didnt do a good job at mixing tracks, and youll have a horrible experience. I had one movie that put some of the stuff that should have been behind onto front speakers and dialog onto back speakers. Objects moving left to right could move right to left on the speakers. Luckily nowadays, most titles, whether music or video, are at least mixed properly for Dolby 5.1. So while these speakers sound pretty good when the content is well mixed, what you hear is 90% going to be dependant on what the mix you are listening to is serup for. Don't plan on putting these on non-Sony or unsupported sound bars. You'll hear nothing at all. They only are Bluetooth as what they get from your soundbar. They also dont work with phones. They are only good quality sattelite speakers but perform really well for that.

These speakers work, just make sure the content supports surround sound or you won't get sound through them. As soon as I turned on my soundbar it quickly recognized the speakers that easy no fiddling. You can increase the volume of each speaker if it doesn't sound loud enough, again a lot depends on the content. On games they sound pretty good, I try it with fallout 4 yeah it's an old game but I could hear shots, ambience and lightning sounds be that from the sci-fi guns or weather from the back so, I'm pleasantly please with the performance of these speakers.

Read a few reviews about the speakers, installed them today. Previously installed Sony speaker 5s, They were big, gaudy, and the sound did not match the set up. These speakers are smaller, the sound clarity is excellent, highly recommend these over the 5s. Awesome speaker, pairs well with soundbar 8 and subwoofer 300. Great match pairing! Make sure to download the Bravia app and adjust the volume speakers from the app. Best speaker system with Sony Bravia 8 TV.

Seems quality made. easy set up. However, the speakers produce very little sound at low to medium volume on the soundbar. if you crank up the soundbar, rears do make some audible sound. I knew this going in, but at least the rears do open the sound stage for the soundbar.

To be honest I don't hear a great difference from my old 5.1 surround system

I have a Sony Soundbar and subwoofer. these rear channel speakers were the final piece I needed to complete my home theater set up. For Gaming, sports and movies that use Dolby Atmos, my HT-S2000 along with these helps to support a very immersive soundscape, especially when playing games like Halo Infinite, Call Of Duty and Gears of war 5. if the programs are not encoded for surround sound, they will remain passively silent until needed. All in all, this was a great purchase and I am VERY satisfied!

Not battery powered as stated in the item description

I have the HT-A5000 soundbar connected with a Sony OLED TV. The soundbar is nice, but the sound field is a bit too narrow. The SA-RS3S wireless speakers are just plug and play. They automatically connected to the soundbar once powered on. Tested with the demo from the soundbar and the sound quality becomes much better and the surround sound effect pops up. Really love it.
