Texas Life
This was an interesting film about rural Texas life where limited opportunities exist. I did not see this one in the theaters because it is a little like the Bonnie and Clyde story. It does offer a word of warning to any would be bank robbers. Don't rob a bank in Texas because every person in the bank is armed and is a decent marksman.

Good Movie!
Enjoyed the movie but offering the 'Con' first: 1/2 way through on the main disk continually got these pop up blockers saying audio muted and had to keep clicking on ok to watch without sound. HOWEVER, just prior to throwing movie away I discovered a second digital disk that allowed the movie to play without the popups.Pro: Excellent movie. Arrived quickly.

Can't Stop Watching This Movie
I've seen it around ten times now and finally decided it was time to buy.The first thing that comes to mind is Chris Pine's spare performance. As uncluttered as the West Texas landscape, he says more with his silences than with the words Taylor Sheridan has given him, and those words are as authentic Texan as you can get.A Texas native whose family lost their land in the '90s, Sheridan has crafted a story and characters as memorable as Thomas Dunson and Matt Garth in Howard Hawk's Red River. After Pine, as Toby, there is Ben Foster, Pine's older brother Tanner, careening toward self-destruction and might just take his brother's dream to set his two sons up for life with him. Tanner is locked in a death struggle with the world. He knows the world will always win, but he never stops spitting in its eye. At least, there is that satisfaction. Foster inhabits this character in a way no other actor I can think of could...maybe a young Sean Penn. It is almost like Foster was Tanner or someone like him in a previous life. You can't help but root for these two who've had every misfortune a poor West Texas upbringing can throw at you. They're not hurting anyone who matters. Just Texas Midlands Banks who, in reality, has stolen their mother's property. Folks are still reeling from the Wall Street Meltdown, and it's satisfying to see these two getting back at Midlands bank. Won't go into what that means. And Jeff Bridges never stops creating characters you can't stop thinking about once the credits roll. His portrayals always bring something more to the table than was written in the script. He pokes his part Mexican part Native American Texas Ranger partner every chance he gets with outright racial slurs. Bridges is so adept at projecting an inner life to all of his characters, including this one, Marcus Hamilton, you know in his heart he isn't a racist and only does it because he knows his partner, Alberto, is going to react.Gil Birmingham, as Alberto, does a fine job maintaining his dignity. He isn't happy with the constant barbs, but in one scene, he reminds Marcus that all this land once belonged to his ancestors, it isn't a reprisal, simply a statement of fact. And in the end, Marcus' true feelings about Alberto are revealed. But the heart of the movie lies with Pine as Toby. What he has planned for his sons is fine and noble. He just needs to rob a few banks to see that dream come true. He intends to see his sons rise above the generational poverty, the hopelessness, the despair that is West Texas. And it is the superb writing, the authentic dialogue, and all of the supporting cast, the tellers, the waitress, and even the Comanche Texas Hold-em player, all seem to have walked off a dusty street in a dusty, dying West Texas town and onto the movie set.Well, I'm going to watch it again, right now.

Excelente Pelicula .

Texas Ranger story.
Make a point and see this well made and acted story of bank heists set in the great state of Texas.Jeff Bridges and his partner are Texas rangers , the story starts with a "bang" and the pace rarelyslackens . This is a film that in my view once seen will encourage the viewer to want to see again. In short it's a cracker.
