Bought this as a fun family night game. This is very heavy to carry and the carring box does seem flimmsy unsure how it will hold up over time. The tiles look just like the image. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

I recently purchased this mahjong set, and it’s been a fantastic addition to our family game nights! The standout feature of this set is the larger tile size—each tile measures 1.5 inches, which is noticeably bigger than the standard 1 3/16 x 7/8 x 1/2 inch size. The larger size makes the tiles much easier to handle, especially for kids or anyone with smaller hands. The etched markings on the tiles are another highlight. They’re crisp, clear, and durable, ensuring the designs won’t fade or wear off over time. This adds to the premium feel of the set and makes it easy for beginners to identify the tiles as they learn the game. Teaching my kids to play with this set has been a breeze. The larger tiles and distinct markings make it simple for them to follow along and build their confidence. It’s also fun for adults, so it’s a win-win for the whole family. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the larger tiles make the set slightly bulkier, so storing and transporting it requires a bit more effort. However, this is a small trade-off for the overall quality and playability. The case closes at the bottom which is not a great design because it has opened while I was transporting them. I took one star off for this reason. If you’re looking for a durable and beginner-friendly mahjong set, this is a great choice!

I spent so much time looking for a set for Chinese Mahj and I'm so glad that this is the one I purchased. I already have two sets for American Mahj but I wanted a set with large tiles exclusively for Chinese play. I'm so glad I didn't get hung up with all the complaints about the size of the tiles. They're described as 1 and 1/2 inches. I measured mine and they are 1 and 5/12th of an inch - that's only 1/12th of an inch smaller than 1 and 1/2 inches and that is perfectly fine with me. I have no problem rounding up 1/12th of an inch. It probably makes it easier for people to picture the size when it's described as 1 and 1/2 rather than 1 and 5/12ths. The lettering, ink and pictures are perfect. I ordered it in blue and every one of the tiles are perfect on both sides - no scratches or smudges. There are Arabic numbers on the characters and letters on the winds so that will be helpful when teaching new players. The case is just fine. I've already taken the set of tiles in the case to friends' homes and it's holding up just fine. I don't hold it by the handle because it is very heavy and I can see where over time the case might not hold up well but I don't see that happening any time soon. The VALUE is remarkable. The price is so reasonable and the tiles are so beautiful.

The overable usability and the tiles are good. The only drawback is the quality of container/bag which is not that strong and two of the boxes that hold the tile in the bag were already ripped. However, I'm keeping it since it's a hassle to return and I'm only going to use it during occasion anyway.

We got this for my parents and my dad is a mahjong expert. It came as expected with all the pieces. We didn't need the instruction booklet so I don't know how good it is. The case it came in is very cheap and slightly breaking under the heavy weight of the Mahjong pieces so I would not use it as a gift (or at least get a better case if for gifting). Good for value.

Our family had a wonderful holiday during the traditional Chinese Spring Festival. Really good quality mahjong, feel good. We play mahjong together for a while after dinner every day, which is really fun, fun, and exercise our brains. love it. The only downside is that the box is not strong enough and the edges are a little cracked. Since mahjong is heavy, I think it can be equipped with a more sturdy box.

Please be aware that this set is only for the traditional Chinese version of Mahjong. As it does not contain jokers, it cannot be played for American Mahjong. The set also contains the bigger size of tiles, so it will require larger racks. But it’s a beautiful piece and excellent for color blind people as the red and green dragons are very distinctive.

I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the mahjong set! The estimated delivery was scheduled for just after Easter, but to my delight, it arrived early—just in time for our family dinner gathering. I had ordered the set specifically to enjoy with my 91-year-old mother, and it brought her so much joy to be able to play that evening. I selected the blue tile set along with a matching blue mat, and both exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. What truly stood out was the instruction booklet—it was not only beautifully designed and printed on premium paper, but also exceptionally well-written, making it easy to understand the game. I highly recommend both the mahjong set and the mat. They made our family evening extra special and will be cherished for years to come.
