SportStar Youth RX Hurricane Gel Football Chinstrap

After finding that the youth under armour was too wide and bulky I searched for something that would fit a younger player better and came across this chinstrap. It turned out to fit much better and he says its alot more comfortable to wear. Also there is a small amount of space between the edges of the chin strap and the helmet for better adjustment and it doesnt push into his throat with his head down like the UA did. If you have a player 10 or under this is a great option for a hard cup chin strap that will fit well.

This is perfect. Great coverage of the chin. Thick enough to prevent bodily harm/injury. My sons favorite color was a plus. No issues except the excess strap. Consider doing a toddler design to eliminate excess white strap beyond the point of adjustment.

Fit well, more comfortable than a stock strap for my son.

This was our first year with a kiddo in football and we were all stoked for him. I’ll preface this with the fact I don’t know anything about football gear or what I needed, as I played soccer for 13 years. However, hubby knew since he played. We went through and got gear that was needed and this chin strap looked decent and more comfortable, and after buying our own shoulder pads since we didn’t much like the ones that came from the sports Association we decided to go to Amazon for a chin strap instead of academy.This chin strap was great, in the beginning, however for a 10 week season we started having issues with it about 5 weeks in, the snaps weren’t holding up and his coaches kept having to adjust and mess with it so that they would stay put. Sad to say that we ended up having to get another chin strap for him to finish out the season.I guess in this situation spending more on quality in the beginning probably would have saved us some money. Our player was an 8 year old boy too so there wasn’t a whole lot of roughness on this strap.
