THIS IS A GOOD BATTERY!
I HATE chepo camera batteries, but this is not one of them just a very good deal.In addition to loving photography and earning money through picture sales, I'm a service manager of a motorcycle dealer and in the past was an industrial electrician. I have always liked batteries and have substantial education on and work experience with batteries.I tested this battery against the new oe battery that my LX7 came with. First setting the interval timer and using flash for every picture on respective fully charged batteries, result:Panasonic oe battery 186 pictures with flashWasabi Power: 261 pictures with flashNext up on respective fully charged batteries I placed a constant 0.4 amp load until the battery voltage fell to 2.9 volts and through time arrived at amp hour capacity:Panasonic oe: 1221 mAHWasabi Power: 1759 mAHLastly I fully charged both batteries, took 2 pictures on each to remove surface charge and then let both batteries sit outside camera for 72 hours measuring voltage with my highest resolution Fluke multimeter before and after 72 hour rest to get an idea of how quickly batteries are likely to loose charge while sitting. Result:Panasonic oe battery dropped by 4 micro voltsWasabi Power battery dropped by only 3 micro voltsA real laboratory test of these batteries would be conducted on dozens of samples and include many other types of tests BUT.... All indications are that as apposed to many other off brand batteries I have used, these Wasabi Power batteries are very high quality.Lastly the Wasabi Power battery DOES communicate with both my LX5 and LX7 cameras and show an accurate battery level indication on the camera screen.Thumbs up from me!

its a decent replacement
of course you buy these aftermarket batteries for there price, i have bought several like this one over the years for various cameras ive owned, i had one melt down one time in a battery charger, not shure if it was the charger or battery, both were after market but i suspect the charger ruined that one. this wasabi is fine in my lx7. the battery level shows fine. hold about the same number of shots as the lumix battery, id not count on it for more than that. i dont often need a second battery and dont really have a need for a second battery to last as long anyway, sort of a stop gap. id buy it again. it works .

High quality, good battery life thus far, OEM fitment.
It used to be you'd never buy an aftermarket battery for fine electronics. Too risky. This seems to be changing, and the Wasabi shows thus far to be an excellent quality second battery for the Lumix (also fits the Leica D Lux 6). Nicely sealed case, exact fit, and quality plated contacts. I have not done a milliamp-hour drain test to accurately compare this to the OEM Panasonic battery, but use both interchangeably and seem to get several days or 200 shots of filming and editing on either before a recharge is needed. The recharge rate/time on both is comparable. So if you need a spare batt for your digicam - and you must if you depend on it - this one is just fine and saves a few bucks over OEM.

Did not fit in my LX5
For whatever reason, though it *looks* like it's the same size, I could not get it into my camera with the amount of force I was willing to apply in an attempt. (And yes I tried several times.) It's definitely a Panasonic DMC-LX5 also.

Security and freedom to shoot at low price, for high quality
Bought CANON POWERSHOT cameras (three) and PANASONIC LUMIX (LX7). I will shoot 3-400 shots a day much of the time. WASABI batteries, which are new to me, have proven quickly to be up to my needs. Far cheaper than Manufacturer batteries, and holding charge as well, and giving as many shots per charge as the manufacturer batteries. Would recommend to anyone to keep a few extra in your pocket or camera bag. You are a lot more likely to need an extra BATTERY than an extra 16GB chip (think how many shots it would take to fill that chip)....Shoot indoors, lots of flash shots, you can eat batteries like M&M's.

The deal where you get two batteries plus a charger is a good one, already have that so I just got ...
Already have some. These last longer than the battery that came with the camera, I get ~250 stills with these. I always carry a spare. The deal where you get two batteries plus a charger is a good one, already have that so I just got the battery this time.

"This battery cannot be used" message after 4 months of use
I've purchase a few of the other (non-oem) brands of batteries for my LX5, without fail I would immediately get the "This battery cannot be used" message. A little research showed that the Panasonic cameras are pretty rigid about the need for Panasonic-brand batteries. Then I found the Wasabi and it's glowing reviews. The price was 1/3 of what Panasonic charges are there were some really smart people leaving thoughtful reviews of this battery. I purchased the Wasabi and found the praise to be true! This battery was rock solid...until it wasn't. After 4 months of fairly infrequent use (about 4-8 hours/month), the battery is now unusable. It starts up but seven seconds later, the dreaded message is displayed. Such a bummer.
