Medium-weight, real wool, well made
This comforter reminds me of traditional, thick wool-filled comforters that keeps warm in real cold nights. Still, it is more of a medium-weight comforter, not the thick kind, and thus it has some of the airy feel of a wool blanket. It also makes a difference what duvet cover is used with this: a thin, cotton cover would retain all the comforter’s qualities, while thicker or synthetic covers may make it warmer and less airy. The warmth this comforter provides is noticeable different from down-filled or synthetic-filled comforters: the heat is not reflected the same way, and the breathability is unmatched. For me, this makes for the most versatile comforter in the house: with the right cover, it is perfect when temperatures drop overnight, and thinner covers make it perfect for warmer nights, too.Weight-wise, this is neither heavy, nor feather-weight. It is lightweight for a wool cover, but it is heavy enough not to migrate easily to the side of the bed overnight. Light enough not to feel like a burden or restrict movement in any way.The craftsmanship is very good, all hems use a thick ribbon reinforcement and the sewing is flawless, while the quilting pattern ensures there is no movement and bulking of the filling to any particular area. The sewing is a “cold sewing”, bringing in touch the two sides of the comforter and thus creating lines where there is little insulation. A thicker cover pretty much removes this concern. One big plus is that this cover is washable. I did not get to wash it yet, but by the quality of construction and the natural filling I expect no surprises. It is really interesting that the origin of the wool can be pinpointed, and that this origin is nowhere near Asia. The current price seems to reflect this.

Get the Chatsworth and order one size up.
Update April 26, 2023.We now have three. One basic white. One Chatsworth twin. One Chatsworth King.My wife machine washed and machine dried the Chatsworth twin. It came out fine.Based on that success, she machine washed and dried the basic white one, even though it said dry clean only. It was a disaster. I woke up coughing. Wool fragments escaped the cover and I was breathing them in all night. I threw the comforter out.We just added the Chatsworth king. The sizes, twin, full/queen and king are british sizes. They are smaller than American sizes. We ordered the king size for our queen size bed. It fit perfectly. The full/queen is fine for a double bed.I don’t think these are a good choice for a king size bed. If you are ordering the king for a king size bed that has a mattress and box spring, the sides will be too short.I suggest reading my detailed review of the basic (called classic), comforter.Likes.Definitely lightweight.Comfortable.Aids in providing a good night’s sleep.Attractive.Has loops for attaching a duvet cover. The company’s duvet covers do not have loops.Dislikes.I wish the measurements matched typical American bedding sizes.I have posted photos of both the Chatsworth comforter, and photos of the basic (called classic) comforter. The photos that look wrinkled are the Chatsworth. The other two are the basic. Though this Chatsworth comforter, looks very wrinkled in my photos, it looks very nice in person. The basic comforter has smaller squares, which requires more thread, and therefore a tighter look. It looks great after 2 weeks. The Chatsworth has larger squares, less thread, feels softer, and although only a day old, shows a wrinkled look.I ordered the basic comforter first. It is much cooler than my plush, very lightweight down comforter, and I get a better night’s sleep than with my down. My wife wanted another one for our queen sized bed. Since it lays at the foot of the bed, during the daytime, we ordered the Chatsworth as the color is natural, not white, and matches perfectly with our Redlands Cotton quilt. Same color, same design.Things to know. There appears to be very little wool in the lightweight. It was obvious when I held up the basic white comforter against the window. Where’s the wool? That’s okay with us. I was actually looking for a 100% cotton blanket. 100% cotton blankets of this thickness are as expensive s these. The wool was a secondary consideration for me. I wanted a blanket that was heavy enough to give my duvet cover, good structure. This fit the bill. The measurements appear to be for a smaller British bed, as the Queen size fit the double bed perfectly. Order carefully. Order by the measurements in inches, not the descriptions. The lightweight version will not be comfortable as an only blanket in a cold, drafty house. Out AC is set to 76, we use a tower fan as I hate still air, and the comforter is great under those conditions.

Raspy
The media could not be loaded. Raspy and noisy, I washed thinking that itMight get better but still feels rough. I am 100% disappointed with this purchase, I'm sorry but that's my honest review.Im attaching a video for comparison with my cheap and very cossy comforter.

Can not believe there is a better comforter!
This light weight comforter is just grand! Made very well. Slept under it first time last night. Room temp was 73 when I went to bed & 68 this morning when I woke up as I left window open. I am a hot sleeper. This is the ticket. I think it will easily keep me warm if room temp goes to 65 or even less, but I keep it at 68. I bought the medium weight classic this past winter. It definitely kept me warm, but it isn’t as nice as the Chatsworth, plus the Chatsworth seems a little larger(I have the king size). I like nice, quality things and it is hard for me to believe there is a better lightweight comforter out there. Yes, it is wrinkly looking, but it has been packaged, and “wrinkle” isn’t a problem for me-function is! I just ordered 2 days ago & got it yesterday. The outer shell is soft and wonderful, and feels very durable. I rarely review, but am sold on this one. Will probably buy the Chatsworth medium next winter. The thing about wool is that it really does seem to adjust your temperature to where you feel you are definitely in a “comfort” zone which may take a few minutes, maybe 5, more or less. Don’t spend the time looking at other cheaper comforters like I did. I do not believe there is a better one out there.

Cosy - overall satisfied
Ive slept under this 4 nights. So far Im happy with the purchase. It’s warm and cosy and the construction seems decent. Made in Lithuania.Only disappointment is the size which seems to be small for a queen/full duvet. As a result the duvet easily gets bunched up in the duvet cover as it is so loose. Would have been nice if there were fastening loops at the corners of the duvet. Overall I’m happy.** correction, there are fastening loops on the duvet! Very useful! ****I’m upgrading to a5 star because I really love it after using it two weeks,***
