Would you recommend this product for a fitness instructor? Small to medium size classes- outdoors.

Yes, I teach water fitness classes and use it daily. Keep a plastic bag in case of rain in the carrying case pocket, because it isn't waterproof. The headset mike is comfortable even for doing a lot of jumping and running from one side of the pool to the other. The headset battery lasts 2-3 months.

Would it satisfy a professional singer?

The unit that we purchased is being used in a large fellowship hall for a Line Dancing group. You can hear the dance commands over the music BUT we are using the head type mic and we get some static/noise through the speaker. Not all the time but sometimes more than other times. That said, maybe the hand held mic works better but that doesn't fit the need to have our hands free. It is not a professional type system but I am rather surprised at the power of the voice output for this small unit.

What size is the PA system unit? How long does the rechargeable battery last?

I'm going into my 4th year with it and the battery is still fine. I use it about 40 times a year for about an hour each time. It's about 10" wide x about 14" tall x maybe 6 to 8" deep. The smaller pack is about 4" wide x 5 or 6" tall. Sorry I can't be more exact, I'm not home with it now to measure it.

Is this compatible with additional microphones? If so, what types?

It comes with their wireless microphone. Other microphones can be used, just one microphone at a time. Multiple microphones do not work.
