Incredible for my dog with Steroid Induced Cushings
We bought the size large that is supposed to be for a 48 lbs dog to 80 lbs I believe. Ours is 37lbs for scale and overweight due to meds. It’s a perfect size. Five months ago I took my 12ish year old dog to the vet for what I thought was an injured paw. Never did I think that it would be 5 months later and we would be fighting ITP (low platelets autoimmune). Almost every single night my dog paces due to steroids. He’s hot, restless and miserable and we are miserable watching. I can’t emphasize the level of miserable we are at and the total lack of sleep. I bought this because of the reviewer who mentioned her dog having Cushings. Mine now has steroid induced Cushings, and I thought “maybe just maybe this will work”…and THIS is an absolute win. We laid down around the mat till he walked over and got him to actually lay down. My son pushed down on it and couldn’t believe how cold it was. “Do we need to charge it mom, or put it in the fridge?”, he asks. An hour later we got off the ground and guess what? Our dog is still laying on it and the panting has stopped.Steroid dogs pant, walk around, pant, complain, get up, get down and it feels like it never stops. He’s just sleeping like he use to. I never thought I would be getting emotional over a dog mat. He’s now completely stretched out. Thank you for making this incredible product.

AMAZING help for my elderly dog in Midwestern heat and humidity
Got this for my 10-year-old Great Pyrenees. He has a progressive medical condition that affects his breathing, and the Midwestern heat/humidity double punch has been really hard on him this year. This mat is AMAZING. He tried it out right away (with his box fan set up next to it), and didn't move for several hours. He seeks it out regularly during the day, and sleeps on it every night (whereas before he slept on a tile bathroom floor, I think because it was cooler than carpeted areas). I am not kidding when I say that he is visibly happier and more relaxed than he's been in a while. It's going to be a valuable tool for helping us manage his health as his condition worsens.I hesitated with the price point since we needed an XL for him (and sometimes ordering on Amazon is an exercise in wasting money), but this thing is absolutely the real deal. It is worth every penny to see him so much more comfortable--I sincerely regret that I didn't get this sooner.

Dog rates it 5-star, I rate it 4-star
Our Berner gives it 5 stars and being a double coated mountain dog he is the expert in finding the coolest spot in the house, so I trust his opinion the most! I bought two cooling pads from different brands (this one and the other was the Bedsure Cooling Mat) and even though the Bedsure one feels cooler to my human touch our pup consistently chooses to lay on this mat wherever I put it in the house.I rate it 4 stars because I wish the XL was bigger, or came in a XXL size for large breeds, and secondly it shows dirt A LOT as you can see in the photo and although you can easily wipe down the material it doesn't look clean again. I'm tempted to try it in blue to see if that one hides dirt better. It does make summer roadtrips more comfortable for him since we put it in the back of the car and even put some flat reusable icepacks underneath to keep it cool longer.

Affordable but more likely and accessory than a standalone item
It does seem to be cool to the touch when pressure is applied. Unfortunately none of the dogs would lay on it. Probably because there's no cushioning on it or any sort of pillowy blanket material. Put it underneath their dog bed. Not sure if I'm convinced it cools through the dog bed. I tried putting it underneath the blanket on the end of our bed where they like to sometimes nap. They seem to be avoiding that spot, but so far it's okay underneath their large dog bed. So we'll see. Why did you pick this product vs others?:Overall I'm happy because it wasn't anywhere near as expensive as some of the other brands I see advertised and it does stay cool as far as I can tell. Not sure how it will hold up long-term in the car for road trips

Our "double-coat" dog has needed this for years, and now he has it!
I am naturally sceptical of advertiser & seller claims for products, but thought we'd give one of these a try for our 13-year old "Half-scale Otter Hound" mutt, who has the same double-thick, oily coat of Otter Hounds and many other water dogs. He's always panting, particularly at night, and wanting to go outside several times a night, even in deep winter cold, to cool off, which is a pain for us, as he needs help getting back up the steps and into the house, due to arthritus. Additionally, he needs a soft dog bed to rest his painful joints, but the bed makes him heat up quickly, so he's continually moving to the bed, to a cool, hard floor, struggling to get up, and panting all the time. We got this cooling mat about a month ago, and he avoided it for the first 2 days, then settled onto it sometimes, and seemed OK with it. Around the 4th day, I moved it to his dog bed, and WOW-- what a change! No panting at all, he seeks it out every time he lays down, and obviously prefers it. Even more, he sleeps so much better, so that in the mornings, despite his tired, old joints giving him a lot of pain, he even RUNS around the yard, and RUNS to meet my wife when he wants to come back in. He plays more with our other 2 smaller dogs, and overall seems a LOT more comfortable and happy. The Green Pet Cooling Mat in his dog bed is HIS Spot, now, and he's learned on his own to get off for about half an hour to let it "re-charge", and then gets back on. I just now bought a 2nd mat of the same brand-- We plan to either put it on the floor or in one of the other dogs' beds--- They used to rotate beds a few times during the night, although these days, nobody else gets "his" bed with the cooling mat. I have heard the other dogs "digging"/"scratching" the fabric the middle of their beds sometimes, just like he used to also do, and I think it's an instinctual canine reactionj to being "too hot", i.e., "digging down to cooler soil", so we'll see how this goes. If it goes well, we'll probably order a Small cooling mat for our smallest dog. The mats seem quite durable, aren't nearly as heavy as some make them out to be (my wife has severe spinal stenosis and bad arthritus, and she said to leave word in this review that she has no problem at all handling them. My only regret is that we didnt get some of these years ago. A very good product, and it seems well-made, to last a very long time!FOLLOW UP, about a week after I posted this item, above: We received the 2nd cooling mat, and right away put it in the "medium-size" dog bed, normally preferred by our 3-year old Corgie-Lab mix. She avoided it the first day, although our "big" dog that we bought the first cooling mat for, went for it right away, switching back and forth from each cooling mat-equipped bed, as needed. The 2nd night, our Corgie-Lab mix finally discovered what it was all about, and now, if not sleeping on one of our laps, prefers to sleeping on "her" mat atop "her" dog bed. So, now I have 2 dogs that love these cooling mats. Our "little" dog, a Jack Russell-Shi Tzu mix has a thin coat, and thus looses body heat easily, but I suspect as summer comes on (this is 13 May), we might buy a another mat sized for her, as well. Suffice to say that our dogs seem to really like this product, and I can heartily recommend it.P.S.: When the dogs go out to the back yard, to chase squirrels, bark at passing dogs, or do other "Dog Stuff"-- I've learned that picking up each mat and holding it up vertically so that both sides get air helps cool it off quicker, so that even if they're outside for just a few minutes, they return to a cold mat. The original mat we got for our "big" (actually only 85 lbs) dog is still large enough for him to sleep on half of it, then roll over to the "cold half" for more comfortable sleep. Although he has still panted for short periods, at night on it lately, mostly he just dozes off and snores for hours at a time-- a refreshing change from having him panting and moving around restlessly all night before we got the mats. Some reviews of Dog Cooling Mats suggest putting the mat into the refrigerator, but I think that would be far too much cooling in a short time-- these things are cold to the touch when you pick them up-- and the object is to slowly draw off the dog's body heat without over-cooling it, and they do that very well. We're quite satisfied.
