Updated 12/2019 - i have used both of my belts for more than two years now and not one has had any issues holding up over time. i have come to like the design even more than at first. this past year i got really sick and after i finally got better i had dropped just shy of 40 lbs. none of my clothes fit and this belt was the only thing i could adjust to still fit me. these IMHO are great!this is my second belt and for all the right reasons! used to have to go through my old belts to find one that would fit best with fluctuating weight. last Christmas i got one of these. after the first month i had donated every single one of those belts, just kept my the new ratchet belt. i cut that one to fit a bit smaller than i should have. so when i gained a couple pounds over these just past holidays it was just shy the length i wanted. so i happily ordered a second. this time i was more careful and cut the belt length a little longer just in case i need it on down the road. so now as i lose weight both fit. next year if i indulge too much, i am covered both figuratively and literally by my newest ratchet belt.as to quality my first one is now over a year old with zero defects or problems. i wore it regularly and got used to being able to get a comfortable fit every single time. this newest belt addition is just as good as the original. both in my estimation are perfectly designed. i could not be happier with both.

I desperately want to like this product, it has so much promise! However I can't seem to get it to perform its most basic function, it absolutely refused to remain latched. If I put any tension on it it immediately loosens itself about 2 notches, if I sit down it unlatches, if I bend over it unlatches. It simply won't remain closed so I don't think I can give it anything but one star. I REALLY wanted this product to work and I have no idea how it has such a good rating unless my particular product is just defective. If you want this purely as a decorative belt then I suppose this would be fine and given how it works I would expect it to last a while even though the materials aren't of very good quality. If you want something functional I would look for something else.

The buckle design was nice, the system is smooth and seems great. Very easy to use and stays in place.The belt material is a very poor quality. It is a very thin skin of 'leather', which has already begun deteriorating within less than 1 month. It makes the value of the purchase worthless, unless I want to buy another belt strap that matches the unique design of the buckle. And I have no idea if that belt strap will be durable for more than 1 month!? I was very excited with it... then very disappointed.

I've been using this belt for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! The belt itself seems to be a good quality. The buckle itself really amazes me as it looks great and feels like a very solid build. Expect it to be larger and deeper than a normal buckle as it has to do the ratcheting. I found long ago a belt will hurt my back as well as cause stomach problems so having a belt that is a quick release to lengthen when I sit, then really easy to tighten when I stand is simply awesome! I did find I needed to cut an inch off the belt, and that too was simple. Thus far, nothing negative to say!

It is as described and thus far seems to be decent quality (I have worn one month).... the only flaw I can find it the release does not work as it should. I have to tighten it up slightly by pushing the belt (not pulling it) another 1/2 notch. When it gets to that point I can then press in the release and remove the belt. NOT A BIG deal once you understand the mechanics it takes literally less than a second... in full disclosure, the money I paid for this was refunded due to shipping taking far too long. That said, I will likely order one or two more because I am amazed at how well it holds in place compared to other belts I have owned. I would prefer to buy something made in the USA and would pay more for that. Sadly, US design on these type belts is often boring or obnoxious.

This is a review Of THIS BELT and the quality of it NOT a review of the "Ratchet Belt" design. I did post what I think of ratchet belts below for anyone who is curious, but it in no way effects the review of this specific one.This is a Solid belt, I wasn't going to review the belt until it's good and worn in, but 2ish months in and Its still as nice as the day I got it. The leather is easy to size/cut and the ratchet is simple, and after a lot of use it still works as smooth as ever. The buckle itself has a cool design, in fact this is the only time I've had a belt that got compliments. So from my eyes they have a great quality product.Will Edit if it rapidly falls apart.Thoughts On ratchet beltsIf you have never tried a ratcheting belt before. The concept is worth ALL the stars, it's more comfortable, you can adjust it in seconds rather than having to go the bath room unbuckle, then hope the slot you pic will work.. With this it's as simple as pull until you reach a comfy spot. Ate a big meal and now it's too tight, un-couple and go down a couple clicks and its separated by very little increments, so you can always have it at your perfect size..

The belt is long. But it should be. You are to cut it to length. Make sure you cut the flat end not the curved end.Cut a little and put it on. If you need to, take it off and cut it a little more and try it again. It's better to cut the belt 5 or 6 times than cut it two short and you have to give it a child. To look good, the curved part of the belt shouldn't stick past the buckle more than 1 to 2 inches.Test opening and closing the belt BEFORE you put it on. There is a small lever on the bottom of the belt buckle to unlock the ratcheting part of the belt. If you are wearing it you will not see the latch.
