We recently purchased the Pearl People Counter for our public library, and we have been extremely impressed with its performance. As a smaller public library, understanding customer flow and peak times is crucial, and this device has been a game-changer in providing that insight. Key Features We Love: 1. We can view the data live via the user-friendly dashboard, which helps us make instant decisions, whether it's adjusting staffing levels or tailoring program times. 3. Easy Setup: Setting up the device was a breeze. The instructions were clear, and within minutes, we had it up and running. We didn’t need any technical expertise, which was a huge plus. 4. Detailed Reporting: The system generates detailed reports that are easy to understand. We can break down traffic patterns by hour and/or day, helping us identify peak times and slow periods. This has been instrumental in optimizing store hours and staff allocation. 5. Durability & Design: The door counter has a sleek, unobtrusive design that blends seamlessly with our library’s entrance. It’s also very durable – we haven’t encountered any issues with it despite constant use. 6. Affordable & Cost-Effective: For the value it provides, the price point is great. I've owned the Pearl customer door counter for 3-4 years in my pack-and-ship business, and it's been an outstanding, reliable product. It has sat outside working its whole life in the heat and still accurately tracks every person walking through the door — essential for staffing, marketing, and daily operations. Simple to use, extremely durable, and still working perfectly after years of heavy daily use. A must-have for any shipping store or retail counter. Highly recommended!

Easy to install, fairly accurate count, cloud access- though there is an additional cost for the subscription, so be aware of that, though the reports and customer service are top tier!

We purchased two sets of Pearl infrared people counters from Store Traffic and installed them in our men's and ladies' changing rooms. In our environment, privacy is an important consideration, so although the 3D SCOPE II LC AI models may provide more advanced counting capabilities, we preferred the infrared beam solution because there is no perception of cameras being present in these sensitive areas. Installation was straightforward. We mounted the sensors approximately 24 inches (61 cm) above the floor so that both adults and children would be counted. The counters have performed reliably for our intended use. When the infrared beam is broken, the counter records an entry or exit event, and we have found the counts to be consistent and useful. Customer support has also been excellent. Sayanti, our Customer Success representative, has been extremely responsive to questions and was willing to schedule online support sessions at times that accommodated our location in Hong Kong, even when that meant late evening calls from her side. The main issue prospective buyers should understand is that the free mobile app is very limited. It provides only basic hourly in/out counts and offers no meaningful data export capability. If all you want is a simple count, the app may be adequate. However, if you want reporting, analysis, or the ability to work with the data elsewhere, you will almost certainly need the T.M.A.S. subscription service. What was not clear to us before purchase was the extent to which the subscription is necessary to unlock the full value of the counters. The T.M.A.S. platform currently costs USD 33.95 per month per device pair. With our two pairs of counters, that represents an additional USD 814.80 per year. We only discovered this limitation after receiving the devices and using the iOS app. Overall, the hardware works well and we are satisfied with the counting performance. My advice to other buyers is simple: when evaluating the total cost of ownership, include the T.M.A.S. subscription in your budget. The counters work as advertised, but the subscription is needed to obtain truly meaningful data from them.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent solution for visitor measurement. We installed the SMS Storetraffic Pearl people counter in the museum, and it has been a key tool for obtaining accurate data on visitor flow. Installation was simple thanks to its wireless system, and the Wi-Fi connectivity allows for efficient real-time monitoring. Very useful for decision-making and optimizing the visitor experience. Highly recommended for cultural spaces, commercial spaces, or any location that needs reliable traffic analytics.

Truly horrible instructions! i would not purchase ever again. Include the instructions with the unit. Not instruction videos you have to look at.

The Pearl Counter is an effective way of tracking building usage. It is wireless and not overly cumbersome - it isn't very noticeable once it is installed. While you can use this device without the subscription, you will only be able to access 4 weeks of data with no way to download it. The subscription is a must for anyone wanting to analyze data outside of weeks. Make sure to double-check the internet requirements before purchasing to ensure an easy install.

This software and hardware have been a game changer for our library. The devices are easy to install, minimalist and reliable. The low cost price tag makes these affordable for those of us on a tight budget. The software has been accurate and user friendly. Customer service has been extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this product and software!

We are really happy with this solution for our business. The onboarding process was very helpful, and all the reports are useful for our regular performance reviews. The system notifications (like low battery alerts and others) work well too. The only area that could be improved is the UX of the online platform, but it’s functional as it is.

We have two pairs of door counters for our building's separate entrances. We really appreciate how easy they are to use. When something does go wrong (like they need new batteries) the support section on their website is very easy to use and simple. If you need extra support, their tech help folks are super friendly and helpful- probably the best support we have received for any purchase. We have found the free app to be sufficient for us but will be trying out their TMAS software to see how much value it adds. Overall, we've used three different door counters, and these are by far the best. Nothing more than you need (like camera detection), but great functionality and support.
