Saved our vacation!
I absolutely hate the heat and being in the sun. When I saw how hot it was supposed to be on our vacation I bought this and hoped for the best. My daughter feels the same way so I bought one for her as well. First of all these work like magic! We were at biggest theme park in Anaheim, CA which means hours walking around in the sun. Every time we used the bathroom we would soak our towels and snap them. At first I was nervous because the water in the bathroom was actually warm to hot and not cold for some reason. It didnโt matter one bit! These towels were actually cold on our skin even though the water wasnโt. The weather was in 90s but these towels stayed cool on our necks. They stay soft and not stiff like I remember older cooling towels being. Without this towel there is no way I could have persevered in the heat. Itโs super easy to use and my 5 year old had no problem activating hers. I thought it looked pretty cute on her too. She looked like she was wearing a chic little scarf. She asked for hers everyday and never wanted to take it off. Donโt believe other reviews that say this is no different from a regular towel. A regular towel would not feel cold on your skin, even with warm water, and stay that way. On our last theme park trip my bag strap rubbed off my sunscreen and my only sunburn was on my neck so another great thing about this towel was keeping my neck from getting burned and padding my shoulder from the bag strap all day. Itโs long enough to wrap around your neck and have length to wrap into your shirt. It feels absolutely great and lightweight on. I think itโs made by wizards because itโs magic.

Loved this so much, I bought several more
Reading the negatives reviews, I was a bit apprehensive, but took the plunge due to free return. I am SO glad I did!!! I don't understand the negative reviews. They work extremely well. Some complained it gets your shirt wet. ... well yeah, a bit because it's wet to keep you cool. But nothing crazy if you wring it out well. The water is what cools you down. I read that it stained their light- colored shirts. That has not been our experience at all. We've worn it with white t- shirts and did not experience any color bleeding at all. ...of course they don't last hours because they dry in the heat and sun. You just rewet and back to awesome! I loved it so much, I bought several more for my immediate family for running, hiking, playing tennis, yard work, barbequeing in the sun etc. I plan on buying more for gifts. I have family in construction, friends who are furniture movers and artists who work in the Nevada sun, etc. ...I like to wear it sometimes almost like a durag tied at the back of my neck. I have incredibly curly hair and wouldn't want to wear it when I've spent so much time straightening it, but just sweating would make my hair curl so it's a non-issue for me. But if you have your hair tied up and just wear around your neck or neck and covering your shoulders if you have a tank or tube top on, it doesn't mess with your hair at all. I even wear it sometimes just cleaning the house. ...So to summerize: I don't understand the negative reviews and I HIGHLY recommend this product for anyone who is spending time in the heat!!

Amazing positive product held back by few flaws
Just one or two flaws unfortunately the world will never be perfect. I personally think this product is one of the better purchases I have made. The material is top quality and surprises me with its floral design when soaked. The product does get cold as advertised and stays cold a really long time. I have used this product to do alot of work that I wouldn't have been able to do without it. The flaws in the overall design are the reason why I ended up giving a four star, I consider this to be more like 4.5 stars because this product is a must buy. The cons start with extended use. This towel is only intended to be used for a short amount of time. I brought it with me to work on an eight hour day and the towel triggered my body into cold like symptoms. The constant heat mixed with the cold and wet will cause a reaction in the body, it does not feel pleasant. I was hoping for a towel that could be anti heat, such a thing may be physically impossible. The next flaw was in the clip of the bag. it's not a big issue but I have to stress that the clip should have been more durable. I busted the spring on mine with in a week, not good. It's really small but is there, the overall product again was greatly positive, I love it, I just wish it would be good for extended use since the earth is getting hotter every year.

Works But Can Be Uncomfortable
This does work very well as far as what it claims it does. When you wet this thing, it does become very cold. I heard that these products don't do as well in humid weather, but I don't know if that is the case. However, I did find the product a bit uncomfortable. That the towel cooled as well as it did made me more aware of how hot the weather was. I know this sounds strange, but I think I know how to explain this best. Imagine you have the desire to hold your hand over a lit candle. You would feel the heat if your hand is at room temperature. However, if you held some ice in your hand before you put it over the candle, you would probably feel the heat more intensely than when your hand was at room temperature. You may even get a burning sensation more. That is the type of discomfort I felt when I wore the towel. Also, I would suggest being very good about wearing waterproof sun block if you go outside with this. I'm not sure it won't make you more prone to sun burn. All that said, I still have hopes that this will work out for me. I live in Florida. I love to bicycle everywhere, but during our summer months the heat can be deplorable. Our humidity is almost always above 60% even during the winter. This can make outdoor recreation and chores potentially deadly as there is a risk of heat stroke. I am hoping this product can help me keep my temperature down to a safe level and prevent over heating. UPDATE: The burning sensation didn't last. I've ordered another one of these for my mom. I may get more in the future. This is definitely part of my "keeping cool in the Florida heat" defense, and it may soon become my "keeping cool with hot flashes" defense too.

BUY IT! Better than Frogg Togg
We put the Chill Pal to the ultimate test today and it passed with flying colors. We run a marina on the east coast which means running around for hours on end in the blazing sun. The heat index today has fluctuated between 108 and 112. We have been using the Frogg Togg brand Chilly Pads for years to keep cool but, this year, they failed to return our emails and refill our order so we went looking for something else, something better. That's when we stumbled upon the Chill Pal. My crew of 6 has been raving all day about how much better these are. The material is lightweight and even when they dry out, they still cool when a breeze catches them. They don't dry stiff and they are much easier to wrap around a head or neck. It looks like we've found our new cooling towel. Thank you!! We will update in a few months and let you know how they hold up to daily, rigorous use! *3.5 month update* Each towel still looks brand new, even after a couple of washes. Still work great and have not deteriorated a bit.

Product is fine, but I much prefer their PVA cooling towel product
I have ordered from this vendor before because I absolutely love their PVA cooling towel. I have used it in the Florida hot and humid summers and in the Arizona dry heat. Both times it worked great. I wanted a larger towel, but sadly they don't make one in the PVA fabric. I thought that I'd give this one a try as the dimensions were exactly what I was looking for, and I had ordered this brand and from this vendor before. In fairness, if I had purchased this towel first I probably would've been satisfied. But because I have experienced the PVA fabric, the new fabric doesn't hold a candle to it. It doesn't get as cool and or stay cool nearly as long as the PVA model. I guess to get the length that I want, I may end up sewing two of the PVA towels together! I reached out to the vendor and they were great!

It works for me
In my infinite wisdom, I ordered not one, not two, not three, but four cooling towels, all of which arrived in the same box. So I have spent the last couple of weeks comparing them. Then I decided to wet a terrycloth towel that I had to compare that to the cooling towels. The bottom line is that all five work about equally as well. So, if you have a terrycloth towel that is about 42" long and 10" wide, you may want to use that. The things I was checking were how much I sweat while wearing it, the size of the towel, the comfort of the towel, how much it wet my shirt, and how long it stayed cool. Without a cooling towel I sweat a lot. I never used to sweat at all but now I make up for it in my old age. I am not certain that there was any particular difference in how much I sweat using the different towels. The amount of sweat appeared to more depend on how high I got my heart rate up and whether or not I was drinking water while exercising. So, while all appear to cut down on the amount of sweat, there is no appreciable difference between them. They all work, and all work about the same. As for the size, all except one are about 42" long and about 11" wide. The odd one out is about 10" shorter. So the size is the same except for the one. They are all similar in weight and such, other than the one which was smaller. That is heavier. They are all comfortable to wear. The problem with the shorter one is that it flops around more. At first I was putting it around my neck and throwing one end behind me. Except that one would not stay behind. But, on the other hand, if put around the neck, the shorter one does not hang down as far on the clothing. Which, in turn, means the clothing does not get as wet. Lately, however, I have been wearing it as a headband so the clothing getting wet is not an issue. I believe that, for me, using it as a headband works better. Considering that I have four cooling towels, I could always wear one as a headband and another around the neck. Then I should be really cool. As for wetting my shirt when used around the neck, that also is pretty much the same among all of the cooling towels. The terrycloth towel definitely gets my shirt wetter. The terrycloth towel is also more difficult to use as it is heavier than the cooling towels. All of them stayed cool the entire time I exercised which is one hour at a time. I have also checked them hours later and found they were still wet. I do not know why this is true, but I like the Chill Pal the best of the five towels I tried. To me it simply seemed that the size was the best and that it worked as well as or better than any of the other towels. I used it on the exercise that raised my heart rate the highest of the times I was trying towels, and it definitely kept the sweat down considerably. It is, however, the most expensive of the cooling towels that I ordered.

Yes it really works
If you are the outdoor type or just need to be outside for sports or work you do need this. Have you noticed it is getting hotter in the summer, or is it just me. I have bought several of these for gifts and everyone has appreciated them. You just wet the towel in cold/cool water then ring it out and wrap it around your neck. It last for at least an hour or more. Just refresh it by repeating the process. I use mine while hand watering flowers in my yard and when I mow my lawn. It really works to keep you cool. My Grandson uses his for outdoor sports or while riding his bike or playing golf.
