Berberine seems to be all the rage especially for those looking to help their blood glucose levels. I've been taking capsule form for months now and it has definitely helped with my blood sugars bring down my morning glucose levels and preventing massive spikes after dinner. I've tried several capsuled brands of various ilk some less "yellow" than others and cracking open some of them and tasting them some tasted hardly bitter at all and subsequently those were the ones that had lower levels of efficacy. In short....the more bitter and yellow the powder usually the better the quality and potency. Inside this bag from BulkSupplements you will get some of the most yellow (near gold) and bitter Berberine I've encountered. It does not dissolve well in cold water at all. It creates this clumps and makes it harder to quaff. What I do is measure out ~600mg with a precision gram scale. I highly recommend getting a high precision scale to make sure you get the exacting amount. I then use a tea mug and pour boiling water in and use an electric whisk and that gets it where it needs to be. Once is it properly mixed I pop it in the fridge for 10 min because trust me you are NOT going to want to sip it hot. Once it is luke warm to cold I just down it nice and quick. It sits well like most Berberine capsules do and this has given me the best glucose numbers I've ever experienced after having tested 4-5 different capsuled brands so far. 5/5

This is very potent. I am looking for a better way to take it, the taste is like chewing Tylenol. It works very well anyway, I just don't recommend putting it in a protein shake

I was excited to get this because it’s a better deal than the capsules but when I tried it, I quickly found out why the capsules are better. This had to be the worse thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. And it stains things really bad. The powder is yellow and I got some on my hand and shirt and it took multiple washes with soap to get off my hand. I’d say just get the capsules and don’t waste your time with this because the taste just makes it so miserable to drink. Like it’s not the kind of thing you’d push through and drink anyway. Don’t get it.

Tanked my appetite and reduced blood pressure. Wow, I just started taking this yesterday, and I'm stunned by result. I mixed it with other bitter orange / yellow powders: lutein, rutin, zeanthanin and put the mixture under my tongue. After around 30 seconds I wash it down with ginger ale. Everything clumps and so you need to keep drinking and making sure all clumps swallowed til it's gone. It's more bitter than my other bitter supplements but these results are worth it. I am taking twice a day. I am not hungry AT ALL. Will update if anything changes.

Good for the bulk price, but impossible to gauge a dose since no plastic cup is given to calibrate the average daily dosage.

Very Healthy Supplement but it's STRONG BITTER FLAVOR overwhelms everything I tried to mask it with....

I purchased this as part of my "cutting" for an upcoming bodybuilding competition. It is supposedly a Glucose Disposal Agent, helping to reduce the body's absorption of carbohydrates. I take 400-500 mg before meals with carbs. Did it work for my weight loss? Unfortunately, I cannot know for sure. I started taking this at the same time I cut my caloric intake; so I cannot tell the exact impact. However, I noticed that I have much less gas and more solid poops! Those results alone make taking this totally worthwhile! Taste....yup, check the reviews. Pure Berberine is perhaps the worst tasting supplement I have ingested. There is nothing you can mix with it to hide the flavor. Do yourself a favor and buy a pill capper and some empty caps. Also note, the stuff is very yellow. It will temporarily stain countertops and clothing, I have been able to completely wash out the color of anything it has stained so far.

Berberine is better than the drug metformin but you need a strong dose for it to work

Tastes like crap , had to throw it out . They should make it in capsules and they should say that on their product advert.! Don't buy it.

The taste of this supplement powder is extremely unpleasant and overpowering. I tried mixing it with various ingredients and even reduced the dose to half the recommended amount, but the flavor remained too strong. I recommend opting for the capsules instead for a more tolerable experience.
