Great solid monopod
Though this unit is a little heavy, it's very well built. The handle is solid rubber with flat sides that makes it easy to grip. Panning is silky smooth and i love the ability to flip down the legs to steady it while i'm filming. I paired this with a Desmond DB-44 ball head, which is perfect for this monopod. Pluses: Smaller than most monopods, and flip locks need very little travel, to opening and closing them can be done quickly and easily. Cons: Even though there's a metal collar at the bottom that locks the monopod and prevents it from moving in all directions, there's still slight wobble to the monopod with it locked and legs extended. If the collar was more robust, that would make it more study (if you place a heavy camera on the monopod, it will lean just slightly because there's not enough support at that collar joint). Note: even with it locked, you CAN rotate the monopod left or right - there's no way to lock down the panning on it (though i have no problem with that) If you want a case for it, get the Slik Tripod Case 24-Inch Medium, which fits it perfectly with a half inch to spare, if you use a ball head with it. Overall a great monopod. If the carbon fiber version wasn't so much more expensive, i'd definitely get that, as it's a pound lighter, but i'm happy with this unit so far.

Professional Quality
I've bought two of these monopods and use them to shoot weddings. They're lightweight, but they don't feel cheap. They're easy to use, and allow me to steady my footage, while giving me mobility to move around and get my shots. Depending on how you lock off the bottom of the monopod, you can get some great Dutch angle shots, by leaning the monopod, while holding the base with your foot.

Versatile and strong!
Perfect combination of size/strength in a mono/tri combo. Paired with the Manf ball head - it was a great choice for my Iceland photo tour. It was excellent for birding.

Great product.
This monopod is great, except the little connector to attach it to the product (in my case an audio recorder) has become loose and so it wiggles around a bit and isn't tight. This doesn't matter that much for me but if it was attached to a camera it would. I can't see any way to tighten it. Other than that, it is awesome, lightweight, sturdy and easy to use.

Great Design For Stable Work
I'm switching from a Manfrotto monopod to this, and I have to say I liked it from the start. Easy to deploy (though I do sometimes try to open the wrong section--the feet help stabilize the camera for the shots I need for real estate photography and general use. I mostly keep the bottom pivot locked, but it's so easy to use I use it. This is a very nice monopod-ish device that I use almost every shoot, and can only extoll its virtues and find little to complain about (weight, but, it does have those nice feet at the bottom).

Absolutely must have for run and gun shooting!
Purchased this for a couple wedding gigs I had lined up. It is fantastic! It's super light weight and easy to get around with on set. I even replaced my regular tripod with this because of how portable and efficient this monopod is! Depending on the camera you place on this monopod it's pretty sturdy. I have tried both the SonyA7IV & SonyA6500, both are pretty study on the monopod. I can leave it with the camera and not worry about it tipping. Obviously once you had more stuff to the rig and if there are harsh winds, it is pretty dangerous to just leave it alone. Tbh if those are the shooting conditions, you either bring a tripod or just stand next to the monopod while recording! Highly recommend to anyone that needs and on the go type of monopod.

This is the one you want
Follows in the quality tradition of any other Manfrotto product. This will most likely last a lifetime. ( I have a 30+ year old Manfrotto silver aluminum tripod and heavy duty light stands that still works. I expect the same from this monopod. It is tall enough to see over the crowd and needs little balance to stand alone with a video fluid head attatched. And best of all the price is right.

Fatal Design Flaw in Foot - BE AWARE
This monopod relies on a small aluminum threaded bolt to attach the base to the monopod. This has snapped on 2 different units we have purchased. We did make regular use of these - both aluminum and carbon fiber - and both broke in the exact same place. Once this one broke I took it apart only to discover the entire load is transferred down to the base on this 4 mm bolt made from aluminum. A joint like this should be more resilient at this cost point in my opinion. I have reached out to Manfrotto in an effort to get a new bolt - 3 attempts - no response. Be aware if you plan to purchase and make heavy use - your base may snap off from the monopod.

It's The Bomb! This is like a step up to "serious kit" for those of us working with video. A cross-over between a tripod and a gimble. I love the silky smooth, air cushioned, pan & tilt head and foot swivels. At the price point, perhaps slightly indulgent, but how seriously. do you take your film making? A little on the heavy side, both physically as well as price-wise, so maybe not for mountaineers, hill walkers and backpackers but more for filmmakers.

It is suitable for your travel and bush walk taking photos and is not recommended for the compact camera.

Great monopod! What can you say about Manfrotto quality and longevity! I have different ones for different purposes but, I find myself grabbing this one more often, quite versatile and easy to carry around.
