This is excellent olive oil, which is to say it is a genuine Crete product. Many, if not most, Americans know only the characterless big brands that are, at best, mixed sources and, at worst, not actual extra virgin. (There are elements in the olive oil business that are nearly as crooked as the honey business.) Good extra virgin olive oil has the "bite," and growers know the proper degree of ripeness to obtain it. But even the reliable California and Texas olive oils lack that bite. I suspect they let their olives go overly ripe to avoid the burn that their American audience doesn't understand. You feel it, especially in your throat, and it has a difficult-to-describe character that I can only say is that of proper olive oil. Now, you don't want to spend for this for cooking. Good EVOO can embitter hot foods. For cooking, use a quality brand of pure olive oil, It won't have the bite, and those components are what you don't want being subjected to heat. But for salads and for bread in place of butter, this is the stuff. I have a friend in the olive and olive oil business who also imports from Crete and is obsessed with quality, and this is not distinguishable from what he sells (for significantly more money).

I believe this is the best olive oil in the world . . . At least it's the best I've had, and it's good in all uses.Pop your corn in a microwave popper without oil. Drizzle this over, toss, season with desired seasonings, and toss again! (I like Spicy Ranch seasoning)

There is a big difference in olive oil. I have not found anything better.

I am not happy that the item will expire in 3 months. I t tastes good now but too expensive to get old product.

Spent last winter on Crete and fell in love with the food that is grown there--so fresh, so tasty. Whenever possible I will buy products from Crete--though they're not always easy to get. I was thrilled to find (and still am thrilled to be able to buy) Terra Creta Olive Oil

I love the flavor. I cook with it and pour it on everything. Tastes good on salmon. I buy two containers at a time so I don’t run out.

This is the best olive oil that I know of! We only order Tera Creta now. It is such a lovely, light flavor
