What’s not so common
Got this for my grand daughter. Whatever happened to common sense education? Common core may be the in thing for now, but it doesn’t work for me. Well, I tried but at my age, I’m accustomed to common sense. Sad when even our teachers agree it’s silly. I bought it, with all good intentions in mind

Excellent!
I got this excellent workbook for my daughter's summer math practice. This workbook includes third grade math topics such as whole number operations, fractions, measurement and geometry. This versatile workbook helped my daughter master the Common Core in a way that engages her, supports the lessons she has learned in the classroom, and prepares her for success now, and in the years to come. It has also helped to equip both my daughter and me with strategies to solve math problems successfully. I think my daughter will be better prepared to handle the challenges that await her as she gradually enters into the global marketplace. My daughter really enjoyed this book. When kids have the interest, they become smarter. Practicing math doesn't have to be painful. When my child takes the online Beestar weekly tests, she often ranks high among her peers. I give credits to this book. Highly recommend.

I agree - this math book is a good source to use to help your child learn and understand the common core. I like that it has examples for every single standard - I am not a math person, so this really helps me help my children. I recommend this book to all parents looking for math help for their children.

This book is good for drills and teaching students every step and question ...
I really wanted to give this book 3/4 stars but didn't for a few reasons. The main reasons I rated it two stars was to let parents, educators, sellers and publisher know this book does have many typos and the answer key is incorrect for some of the problems. This book also does not show the work for the math problems, especially multi-step word problems which is critical if you are trying to teach the subject matter to a child while fostering independent learning. The other issue with this book is that it lists vocabulary students should know in each Unit, but there is no glossary in the back of the book where they can quickly access definitions along with pictures/examples. Now for the reasons I gave it 2 stars: This book is good for drills and teaching students every step and question they should ask themselves when solving math equations. It can be repetitive at times but necessary to practice until the student masters particular math skills. The Units are very colorful and informative which keeps the students attention. This book/series also lists the Common Core Standards which is something every parent should at the very least be familiar with. While this purchase was not a complete waste of money, I will probably refrain from purchasing other math workbooks from this series...
