What volume of liquid will the pump dispense per pump?

Hi, I guess it depends on how far you pump the pump. I use it for hand soap and pump about 1/2 way, getting about a nickel size amount. It's well made, no signs of any leaks, should last for years. Hope this helps.

Does the lid eventually rust and corrode?

I have had the Soap and Lotion Dispenser for a year and it shows no sign of rust or corrosion.

How does the dispenser do with a thicker substance like lotion (as opposed to soap)?

I use mine for liquid soap, but I think lotion would work fine in it.
