Excellent car seat - So glad I bought this!
Note: I bought this in February 2018, and am reviewing it in June 2018. I wanted to use it for a few months before giving a review. My dog has never liked to travel. We tried many things, from seats to covers, to different types of crates/carriers. He'd whine and get car sick in all of them. I talked to my vet, I looked at other pet owners' advice, and tried many techniques to try to soothe my dog's nerves. Nothing worked until we got this bed. When we got the bed, we put it out in the living room and he jumped right in, and after a few days we moved it to the car. The very next ride he was relaxed and had no more car sickness and very little crying. After a couple of rides, the crying was gone and he was snoozing or watching the countryside whir by. Now we go for short trips several times a week, and he acts like he was born to ride along! This seat gives him the ride height so he can look out the window from both the front and the side, as well as keep him out of the heavy rays of sun that tend to shine brightly on the seat of the car. It is solid foam, so it is very comfortable. The sherpa lining is also comfortable, though sometimes I do cover it with a sheet to help protect it. I fretted over the size - my dog is 25 lbs with long body, short legged build. He is a terrier/poodle mix, so imagine a solid, corgi-like body. We got the medium and as you can see from the picture, he has plenty of room to spread out if he wants to. It seems like the perfect size. We have put this car seat in the fronts and backs of both a Nissan Rogue and a Toyota Prius, and it has fit fine. It does fit snugly between the console and the door in both cars' front seats, but it wasn't a problem and, if anything, helped secure it. When in the back seat, it took up about as much space as the front seat in front of it, leaving plenty of room for another passenger. I'm very pleased with this car seat!

My Pomeranian ABSOLUTELY Loves his Snoozer Lookout Car Seat!
We purchased the Snoozer Lookout Car Seat in Medium, Black and Cream (Inside) for our 12 lb. Pomeranian baby. He LOVES his car seat and alternates between looking at the window from his comfortable perch to sleeping peacefully. Our baby always loves to be carried but he was happy because it was comfortable and he feels safe in it. The Medium is perfect for him as it gives him a little bit of room to stretch. He does love curling in it as well. The Medium will not work for larger dogs at all. The Seat is made out of high-quality foam and cover. We are very happy because our pooch had the best seat in our truck during our travels for almost 3 weeks. We have not washed it yet so I cannot comment on the covers condition out of the dryer. However, many have stated the cover washes great. I will be air-drying the cover as I would not want it to shrink. We give this seat 5 stars. The $89.95 may seem steep compared to others but this seat is well-worth the money. We do have a CONSUMER ALERT! DO NOT USE THE CONNECTION STRAP PROVIDED. The strap wrapped around our poor baby's ankle and foot twice. The second time is was SO TIGHT we thought we were going to have to cut the strap in order to unwind it. Luckily, after working it for 10 minutes we were able to get it off. We got rid of strap and made a makeshift strap from our dog's leash and clipped to his harness. Our dog's leg and foot were thankfully okay but our dog was crying and yelping until we were able to unwind and remove as he was unable to move his leg/foot--it was so tight. THEY NEED TO STOP INCLUDING THIS STRAP BEFORE SOMEONE's PET IS SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED! We are so grateful strap did not wind itself against high neck as he could have easily died. The thing has no give once it wraps onto your pet! PLEASE THROW AWAY AND DO NOT USE. We did not heed the advise of others and felt terrible for our dog. I HOPE AMAZON AND SNOOZER READ THIS but in case they don't, I'm contacting Snoozer directly on Monday.

Our tabby is well trained and does great with a seat belt connector attached to his harness
My husband and I are avid travelers, we travel on and off throughout the year about 2-1/2 months total. We bring our 2 cats with us everywhere!! We started traveling a couple of years ago when we got our tabby. Our tabby is well trained and does great with a seat belt connector attached to his harness. This past year, we adopted another little boy. We took an around town trip, to prepare him for our upcoming 14 day adventure, and found out immediately the seat belt connector was not going to cut it for this guy!! We bought this seat for him and boy was it worth every penny!! He is so comfortable and happy in this seat... He can look out the window, sleep snuggled up, and even hop around a bit and play while safely seat belted in! But the true test of this seat happened just before Christmas. We were loaded downed down for another 14 day trip, when a diesel truck decided to not abide by the traffic signal..... all airbags in our Nissan Armada were released and the car was an immediate total loss. It was a super scary moment, my heart sunk as I tried to see through the air bag smog to check on my babies! Unbelievably, this seat provided full protection and they came out without a scratch or bump!! Without this seat, our baby would not of been properly seated to avoid such an impact!! We will definitely not hesitate to buy another!

Keeps my small dog safer on car rides - and he completely loves it!
If I am being honest, I felt a bit ridiculous even *considering* buying this product at first. I felt like, if I bought it, I would be spending quite a bit of money for what essentially boiled down to a fancy pillow / booster seat for my dog. I mean, my dogs have it pretty good - but was I really ready to admit to myself that they are really *this* spoiled? However, I finally bought the bullet and bought this for two reasons. First, I have two dogs that both love riding in the car - but one is four times the size of the other (60lbs vs 15lbs). If I don't have them restrained / limited to their own little areas in the car, the big one (Ahu) constantly steps on, sits on, or otherwise smooshes the little one (Milo). When this happens, Milo freaks the heck out - but Ahu is deaf and generally pretty oblivious, so she doesn't typically seem to notice, and as a result, she does not necessarily stop standing on him / mashing his face into the door / whatever. As you can imagine, this creates a less-than-relaxing driving experience (for everyone except Ahu at least - she doesn't give a fig). Standard doggie seat belts and harnesses are not really sufficient for the issue described above, because I can never get them set up such that both dogs can: 1) sit down, stand up, and lie down AND 2) not get tangled up with each other. Each time I would think I finally had everything adjusted perfectly, I would get no more than 5 minutes into our drive before hearing some weird sound and seeing in my rear view mirror that somehow the little dog's seat belt was wrapped around the big dog's leg and the big dog was sitting on the little dog's tail. So, my solution to that has been to have the big dog (in her seat belt and harness) in the back seat and have the little dog in the front seat. One major downside of the big dog back seat and little dog front seat setup is that the front seat is really not as safe or secure for dogs (or anyone really) as the back seat is. Even with his doggie seat belt and harness, Milo still kinda flies around more than I really like when he sits in the front seat. This is especially the case because because he likes looking out the window, but due to his size he has to stand up on his hind legs in order to see out. While the seat belt keeps him from going through the windshield or falling out the window, he still loses his footing and swings around wildly if we so much as go over a speed bump. [Note: The reason Milo is in the front seat instead of Ahu being in the front seat is because my car is small and Ahu is too big to be able to lie down in the front seat during longer drives. If she tries to lie down, she tends to sit her butt directly on the gear shift, which makes it a bit difficult to drive my manual transmission car.] Another downside is that I have a great hammock-style seat protector to catch dog fur in the back seat, but I haven't found a similarly easy to put up and take down seat cover for the front seat, so I typically just throw down a towel or blanket to try and keep the front seat area from getting too furry. [Because I actually do need to drive humans around too! Despite how this review makes me sound, I am not just a dog chauffeur.] So, as you can see, I have really tried many different strategies over the years. Well, all I can say now is that I really should have gotten this Snoozer Lookout Car Seat a long-ass time ago. It keeps Milo safe, secure, and away from my gear shift while he is riding in the car. It also keeps the dog fur contained to a small area and is easy to set up and take out quickly. And, as I think you can tell from the pictures I posted with this review, Milo freaking loves it. TLDR / Moral of the story: Don't let your stupid pride get in the way of buying a product that will bring joy to your dogs and reduce your stress level while you drive them around. Learn from my mistakes and just buy Snoozer Lookout Car Seat already.

Keeps my babies safe!
After buying the Snoozer Console-style car seat for use in our pickup, I knew I liked this brand. I bought two of the Snoozer Lookout Car Seats, one for each of my small dogs. Pros: Keeps my dogs safe. I also like that it raises them up considerably, so that they can see out the window. I like that the sides of the seat are padded, so that when they rest there chins on it, it is soft and comfortable. It is a nice and comfortable seat for them to ride in. Cons: The price is probably the biggest con. A fairly hefty price tag for what is essentially a big piece of foam wrapped in fabric. The size is also pretty cumbersome for my car. I have two of these in the back seat of my 2019 Toyota Camry, and they take up the entire seat. Installing the seats should be an easy process but in my car, it's a little tricky. The Snoozer seat is a bit wide and so I have to maneuver the seatbelt across the Snoozer and then down behind to buckle it. Getting one seat in isn't so difficult but when trying to get the second one in, it's a tight fit and gives me a bit of a workout! The only other con I have is the interior fabric of the seat. It's a nice and fuzzy warm material. However, it is too warm in the summer months. A reversible fabric would be great! Overall, I recommend this seat. It's comfortable and safe for the dog, if you can handle the price tag.

All You Need To Know Re: Safety, Comfort, Size, and Smart Purchase Options
I have the Snoozer 1 car seat and my 8 lb coton de tulea and I both love it. I've had this car seat for 6 months so I can give a fair review of safety, comfort, size and purchase options. Safety: God Forbid that I get in an accident in my little convertible, especially if Molly is with me... but in such a case, the tether that attaches to her vest assures me that at least she won't be a projectile or fly out of the car. The car seat is made of foam so, worst case, she would knock against something soft instead of the hard plastic or metal bars used in some dog seats. Don't stop reading, that was the only morbid part. Comfort: When I had a passenger in the seat of my 2-seater, and luggage in the trunk, I had to bring the car seat into the house (TMI). During that time, Molly preferred jumping in the car seat and sleeping there, instead of using her dog bed. Actually, it's cute as an inside bed... I will resist saying it looks a bit like a throne. Both in the car and in the house, Molly likes to dig and circle before settling down; the tether allows that a little bit, and the fabric has stood the test. Size for Dog and Fit in the Car: It's a great fit for Molly, at 8 pounds, to sit and see outside or lie down. A 10 lb dog would fit well in the small seat. At 12 lbs, I'm guessing that a medium would be more comfortable. As an aside that probably isn't relevant to you, is that this car seat fits easily but barely into the trunk of a small Miata trunk; I don't think that the medium would. No, Molly doesn't ride in the trunk. Really, the only flaw is that, in a bucket seat, the car seat tips back. Any car seat that doesn't hang from the headrest would do that.... I wish it additionally had that additional hanging strap, but a pillow wedged at the back/bottom of the seat addresses the situation. Purchase: Probably by now you are (incorrectly) thinking that this is a paid review or that my sister works for the company.. No, I think I've had too much coffee... But know that Molly likes this seat so well that I'm getting another, this time a a Lookout II (which is the same but has a tray for the retractable leash). I'll use that one in the car and my present Lookout 1 in my house as a bed. Do Check Prices. I think that this Lookout 1 is the same price on the Amazon Site as the Snoozer site but if you're snooty and want a monogram (I don't) that's only an option through the manufacturer site.. or I guess on your own. Importantly, Lookout 11 was Much Less from Snoozer even before the 4th of July weekend discount. I suggest comparing Amazon, Snoozer and Chewy sites. This is so long I should publish it.

A throne for the princess
This seat is perfect for my 20+ lb elderly dog. She's never ridden in a car seat before, but adapted to this seat instantly. We got the larger size and think the small would have been ok for short trips, but not for stretching out. The lining is fluffy and she treated it like a dog bead, wallowing in it at first, but settling quickly. We placed it in the middle of the back seat of a Subaru Outback, but I also tried it in my Infiniti sedan just to see if it would fit and it did. In the Subaru, I could sit next to her comfortably (I'm pretty thin), but the seat does take a little more than the middle section of my car. Once we were on the road, she could see out the front and side windows and was very calm and content immediately. The seat belt held the bed pretty securely once synched up to tighten as directed, but did slide sideways when we rounded a sharp curve. This is the only weakness I've found. The tether that attaches to the seatbelt and the dog's harness is very heavy duty and is easily adjustable to give her enough room to move around but not get out of the seat. I did not have any problem with the tether sliding out of the side like some people reported. After a trial run, we took our dog on a 4 hr round trip drive. She was happy and looking out on the way there and slept on the way back. So, it seems that you can teach an old dog a new trick after all. We just lost her life-long pal recently, so this seat will allow us to take her with us rather than leave her feeling lonely at home without him. 100% pleased so far.

My dog sees the world on his new Booster seat!
Comfy seat for a long trip. My dog gets to see what’s going on in the world! He’s happy looking around and rest when he has enough looking. Got the medium for a Maltese cross and plenty of room to stretch out and go to sleep. Happy dog, happy family, happy life!

The Snoozer brand is good quality
Perfect for my little dog. Fits neatly in the car and she loves it. She feels secure as it’s quite small for one dog. Only wish I could have bought the version with a plastic drawer for their spare lead, water bowl. But, doesn’t detract from the functionality or aesthetics at all.

Fine alternative to hard shell case
Our Zwergdackel (~4.3 kgs) immediately hopped into the car seat and appears quite content. It’s a robust, well-constructed seat and has a distinct advantage or two: one, it sits up high in the back seat and fastens securely with the seatbelt. Two, the cover is removable for easy washing. We bought the Clickit harness for secure travel and are looking forward to Sophie’s reaction. She has travelled internationally well in her airplane approved case (soft) (in the cabin). This allows her more freedom.

Wonderful product. My dog LOVES it
My dog loves this so much that when I have it in our home he will get into it and sleep. One of my dogs gets car sick and this has helped make the journeys tolerable. All my dogs love being elevated. The snoozer has lasted for at least 6 years without any problems.
