Great addition for movie nights
The Poplite Hot Air Popcorn Popper works great and makes fresh popcorn quickly and efficiently. It's surprisingly quieter than other popcorn poppers I've used, which is a nice bonus, especially when making snacks for the family. The popcorn comes out light and fluffy, and cleanup is simple since no oil is required. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an on/off switch—you have to plug it in and unplug it to operate it. It's not a dealbreaker, but it would definitely make the machine more convenient to use. The kernals were popped and not burned. The machine is average size. The plastic parts seem thick and durable This is a reliable and easy-to-use popcorn popper that delivers great results. Highly recommended for popcorn lovers!

Favorite kitchen gadget
I looooove popcorn and this makes it so easy to make my favorite snack. Pops most of the kernels every time. It works best when you use the full scoop of kernels. I use a large popcorn bucket I bought at a theater and it catches most of the popcorn coming out. I wish it had an on/off switch. Well worth the price.

Very Pleased! Didn't Expect It to be This Good!
I have been making popcorn by popping it in a big saucepan with oil in the bottom. This way is healthier than microwave popcorn but I thought I could make it even healthier in a hot air popper. I was surprised in reading customer reviews how disappointed they were in the hot air poppers they bought. I thought, "Gee, this is going to be harder than I imagined." This Presto PopLite Hot Air Popper seemed to get better reviews than the others; so, I thought I'd take a chance on it. I was ready to be unhappy with the results, with popcorn flying all over the kitchen and making a mess. But, what the heck, this popper didn't do that - it threw the popped corn right into a bowl I had under the clear plastic spout. Sure, there were a few unpopped corn kernels that flew out of the popper and bounced on the counter but only 5-8 each time I popped corn. In fact, I had fewer unpopped kernels with this popper than I had popping corn in hot oil in a saucepan! It's very easy to use this popper - just put the kernels in the popper and plug it in (there is not on-off switch). In a couple of minutes or so, you have a bowl of healthy popped corn. Presto recommends you use the included cup to measure the amount of kernels you put in the popper, warning you that using less will result in more unpopped kernels. The Presto cup makes a lot of popcorn; so, if you're alone, you may not be able to eat the entire bowlful. You can also use the Presto cup to pour melted butter (or margarine) on your popped corn (melt the butter before you put it in the cup) but that kind of defeats the purpose of hot air popcorn, doesn't it? You can also spray oil on the popped corn while it pops and add salt at the end of the popping if hot air popcorn is too bland for you. But clean-up is so much easier if you don't use any butter or oil (in the bowl - not in the popper chamber). Anyway, this popper is inexpensive and does the job if you follow the instructions. I think it's a winner and recommend it if you're looking for a good hot air popper!

Works Like a Charm
If you appreciate a crunchy snack like potato chips without all the oil (fat), this is a must-have. You can make up to 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels at a time so you can make it once, have a small bowl, and have more for 2 or 3 more snacks. If you want it with melted butter, it comes with a cup that sits on the top and melts the butter while the popping is happening. While there is no pre-heat function, plugging it in once you've put in the kernels, starts this unit heating up fast, which in turn starts popping quickly. When you're done popping, use caution when touching the spout or butter cup, as they get very hot, so use a potholder or glove. Anyway, the popcorn comes out nice and fluffy and warm. The unit is easy to clean as the spout lifts off so you can easily empty out the very few unpopped kernels and wipe out the heating unit. It takes up very little counterspace if you don't have the cabinet space for it. The cord wraps around the back of the unit when you're not using it. I've been using this unit every 3-4 days for a few months now, and it hasn't skipped a beat. Works like a charm every time, and shows no sign of not continuing. So, it seems like a very durable popper. As a bonus, the yellow color adds a nice touch that matches my yellow and black kitchen color scheme. If you're considering a hot air popper, buy this!

Excellent, with one very small mod/addition to make it even BETTER.....
Superb air popper. Let it heat up for about two minutes, and dump-in your corn kernels...taking care not to burn yourself, of course. The only caveat is when using smaller white kernel corn as some have complained about....the fan is strong enough to blow them right out...and I found a work-around for that, as we use small white corn (virtually hull-less) kernels....I found that if you EVER SO SLIGHTLY tip the popper back just a wee bit, it will retain those kernels for enough time to pop them before they build-up and then spill over....but you don't want it tipped back too far or you will burn the corn because it won't be able to clear the chamber. I used a very, VERY thin shim- a felt foot actually, one on each side of the front end. Works perfectly. Do so at your own risk. This is not a Presto-authorized modification and I assume no responsibility if you try this on your own. But this is what's worked for us.

Best popper I ever had compared to several brands and types.
Most of all the kernels popped to maximum size (3 different types). There was only 3 to 6 old-maids per batch. Excellent for popping Mushroom corn for making Cracker Jacks! I previously made the mistake of buying a higher wattage unit: it blew out 1/3 of the kernels along with the popped ones. I returned it and purchased this Presto Poplite: it is engineered just right. Best popper I ever had compared to several brands and types over 50 years. If someone knocks this popper into the tub while I'm taking a bath and making cheesy popcorn and watching a Steve McQueen movie; I will buy the exact same model again. Oh! I remember that back in the 70's or 80's, I had a hot air popper very similar, maybe even the same brand. This popper is better.

Extremely quick, no clean-up, and rarely any flopcorn
This popper is amazingly reliable. My 1st unit lasted 15 years (and was going strong when I gave it to a friend) and my 2nd unit just died tonight after 20+ years and it probably would've kept going except I accidentally over-loaded it. :( Note that this popper works just as well at 20 years old as it did when brand new. Now THAT is a good design. This popper is fast, extremely fast. Even my 20-yr old unit finished a batch in less than 3 minutes. Seriously, I suggest getting your flavorings ready before turning the unit on. If you fill the popcorn exactly to the line inside the popper, you get a perfect batch every time. You can use less kernels, but you get a few unpopped ones flying into your bowl. Tilting the machine back just a tad will also eliminate unpopped "flyers" if you use less than a full batch. You can even put in a little extra, barely covering the inside measuring line from side, but you'll have to jiggle the popper (e.g. tap it briskly a couple times) to get the kernels swirling. You see, the hot-air blower inside the unit swirls the popcorn, heating them evenly and quickly. If the kernels don't move, the bottom ones will start to burn and the machine will auto-shutoff. (And it stinks to the high heavens!) The popper works so well, don't bother using expensive popcorn. My favorite is Jolly Time which is cheap in the large bags (approx. 2 lbs). The Kroger store-brand of popcorn even works well, and it's dirt-cheap...a real blessing if you eat as much popcorn as I do. :D If you have a Trader Joe's nearby, their popcorn actually cooks with the fewest flopcorn* of them all, even if comparing to the hideously over-priced Orville Redenbocker popcorn. The machine never needs cleaning, either. When done, just tip it so any flopcorn (if any) pours into the waste basket. That's it. It's now ready for another batch. Now, if you try heating butter in the little cup that rests in the top of the unit's cover, THEN you'll have a bit of cleanup...but only that cup. (It's fine in the dishwasher, by the way.) I never use the cup because the unit finishes a batch of popcorn so fast, the butter never has enough time to melt! (And that's true even if you have your butter at room temperature.) Basically, if you want hot butter to pour onto your cooked popcorn, heat it in the microwave while your popcorn's popping. (You'll be much happier.) Tips. 1. Use cheap popcorn as it cooks just as well as over-priced "gourmet" popcorn like the Orville Redenbocker brand. 2. If you like salt, use powdered salt. Morton makes popcorn salt which works well, but you can also powderize your own with a good blender, food processor, or a good spice mill. 3. To get salt or other sprinkled flavorings to stick to your popcorn, give short bursts of cooking spray onto your popcorn and quickly sprinkle a bit of flavoring onto it before it soaks into the popcorn. If you like a LOT of flavoring, spray a bit more and sprinkle faster and longer. :D 4. Johnny's makes a great popcorn salt and a little goes a long ways. Regular powdered salt is cheaper and is just as good in my opinion (but my wife swears by it, hehe). 5. For best results (i.e. the least amount of flopcorn), fill the unit just enough with popcorn so the fine line internal measuring line inside the heating chamber is covered. Tilt the machine back just a little (e.g. place a pencil, butter knife, or other .5" item) underneath the front of the popper's base until enough popped corn has filled the popping chamber; this keeps uncooked popcorn from flying out. 6. If you put in just a little more popcorn so the internal measuring line is covered by 1 or 2 layers of kernels (AND jiggle the unit to make sure it starts swirling), you'll not only get a slightly larger batch of popcorn, but you won't have any unpopped popcorn flying out, even without tilting the unit. Note: The machine is a tad noisy when running. It's not really loud, just a little annoying. It's not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. For comparison, it's about as loud as a hairdryer on its lowest setting. It's maybe as loud as the fan on a microwave. Also note: Hot-air popped popcorn is dry. I mean dry. Really dry. Popcorn, in general, is dry, but popping it without oil/butter/etc. makes it as dry as dry can be, maybe drier. ;) If you put flavorings on it, you'll never never notice it, though. I thought hot-air neophytes might find this curious, though, maybe even a bit surprising. (I actually like it better.) * Flopcorn: The unpopped kernels remaining after popping a batch of popcorn.

Very good popper
The Orville popcorn popper does a great job. However, the scoop which double as a butter melting container is not microwave safe. The popping cycle doesn't melt butter sufficiently, so I popped the scoop with butter into the microwave for 15 seconds and thus melted the scoop. Otherwise, I would recommend this popper indeed.

I RECOMMEND IT
Awesome popcorn popper. Works as described. Popcorn some times gets stuff once they really get popping which requires you to unclog the popcorn to prevent burning.

Absolut KEINE kaufempfehlung meinerseits !!!!!
