My son who has an chewing habit loved this necklace. It lasted for about a month before he chewed all the way through it an bit off the tip. I like the product but I wouldn't buy it again.

My mom bought this for my autistic 3 year old son. He is a heavy chewer and loves the color blue. This is a very unique necklace and everyone knew it was his if it ever came off at school or daycare. The tip of the shark tooth reaches his back molars for his jaw muscles to get the feedback he needs. However, the tip was chewed off within a week. This is a pretty big choking hazard for young kids. If your child is a heavy chewer, maybe find something else that doesn't have such a narrow area for tough chewing at the molars. My one year old daughter chewed the gray one and didn't break it. My son broke the gray one in 1.5 weeks. So we have went through 2 of these necklaces in less than a month. I am looking elsewhere for a better necklace.

We have seen a dramatic change in our child's chewing habits. The shark tooth is well constructed, however, you do need to pay attention as a child could chew and pull causing the tip to break off. This happened to us. This could cause a possible choking hazard. The breakaway string is great, however, our child has a chewing issue and continues to try to chew that as well. It would be great if the breakaway attachment was also chew resistant.
