can you use icecream in it to make a thick shake ?

Yes you can.. I use it to make frappes also

Hi. Will this machine make thick shakes? Thanks

It depends on how much icecream you use. Just under half way of icecream in the mixing cup makes them just thick enough. Hope this helps.

Does this crush Ice for frappes ? Thanks

No it doesn't crush ice . It whisky's the coffee and milk to be very foamy. Then pour that over ice
