Have been using these lights for a couple of years, pay extra get the 3 pin with one wire splits in 2 with 2 switches, just connected got electric shock from near blank pin connector, should have read the reviews not worth your life or Kim, will be reporting to Amazon QC Passed, LOL what ever, these are rejected cheap knock offs…

So I was looking forward to testing this. But I'll keep it short. I didn't even plug it in.You'll notice that the 3 pin plug goes straight to a switch. then into the light via a figure of 8 socket. This means there is no earth. The housing of the light is metal. So lets assume that humidity gets into the light, this shorts the power. That metal will be straight way energised and you'll only find out when you get a shock. The earth is a requirement for metal body electrical items.This then prove that the CE rating is jut a sticker as it would never of passed.Live and neutral are only acceptable if the device is low voltage or has a full insulated body.In the bin it goes.

Although this seems to make a good grow lamp, it has a serious design flaw. The strip lights are not wired together, and there are connectors on each end of each tube, four in total. The mains is connected to one, looped into the next using a short supplied cable. This means the fourth connector has mains voltage across its terminals, a male connector that can easily be touched. There’s a tiny plastic bung supplied in a bag though no mention this should be used in the instructions. It could also drop out leaving the exterior casing of this unit live with mains voltage.It has a UKCA and CE sticker on it, but I can’t believe this is compliant with any regulations. This is far too dangerous to use.

It also has 16 pieces of 5000K white full spectrum LEDs that promote plants germination, increase the growth rate of plants. Lastly, its 16 pieces of red LEDs contribute to photosynthesis, germination, flowering and fruits.When you purchase this, you will be receiving 1 x LED plant growth lamp, 1 x 1.5M power wire with switch, 1 x 30cm connecting cable, 1 x 100cm connecting cable (free Gift only for extension), 2 x steel wire rope, 1 x install components and 1 x user manual.I find this really works well for helping my indoor plants grow especially over winter where there is no direct sunlight. I am unsure about the safety of the chaining together system as the cover that fits onto the end doesn’t fit as well as I expected it too so could potentially be dangerous and lead to an electric shock.To be honest, it works and is reasonably priced, but due to the safety issues I would recommend shopping around.

For the time being i decided to use this grow light to give my planted aquariums light a boost. The original light was a little dull and i wanted my aquatic plants to grow better. I do have a glass lid, i wouldn't of used this without one, with it not being waterproof. Setting it up was fairly simple however the little end cap wouldn't stay in, so as seen in one of my photos i used some brown tape to keep it there.The hanging wire included with this light is hooked onto my ceiling with the included hooks through some picture hanging loops we already owned. This light is very light weight, much lighter than i expected, which is good. It also doesn't get hot. Warm yes but not hot. I can touch the metal casing just fine even after it's been on for hours.As for its use in an aquarium. It does seem to be encouraging my plants growth so far. However it does give a yellowish warm tint to the water. I've included two photos of my aquarium, one is with just the original light, the second is the original light plus this grow light so you can see for yourself. A cooler light would likely show the fish off better though. But now i can see light getting to where it needs to. My plants seem to be enjoying it.Overall, this is lightweight, doesn't get too hot, comes with fixtures and seems okay for quality. The only negative being that end cap that wouldn't stay in, however a bit of tape solved that problem.

The light is quite luminous.I think it is enough for a surface around 2 meters by 60cm, to keep adequate intensity.Unlike many other grow lights, it does not have a remote control allowing to change luminosity or light colour, it has just a switch.I do not mind because I rarely use that functions.But the upside is that this lamp can be plugged into a timer plug so to control exactly the time it goes off and on. Lamps with remote controls often will stay off when plugged and unplugged, so they do not allow for that.It warms a bit, but for my specific use that is fine, because I will be using it in an enclosed outdoor space to let seedlings of tomatoes and similar develop, until the last frost in May. So a bit of extra heat will be fine.I am sealing the cables plugged into the connectors with electrical tape, just in case humidity gets there.I think it is a good solution if a suspended light is needed. Of course it might need to be adjusted in height as the plants grow. At the current price (£22) it is not expensive for what it is.
