Remove the plastic wrap from the filter
I used this unit every night for a year. Thought I better check the filter to see if it was too dirty and needed replacement. Damn if the filter wasn’t wrapped in plastic from the factory. For a year the unit just made fan noise giving me no protection. Check the filter prior to turning on for the first time.

Great for medium-sized/bedrooms
Good value, low noise. Really dislike the bright blue lights! Sleep mode turns the main light off, but it also slows down the filtration, so that is frustrating. Otherwise, works great. Bought it as I have cats and neighbors that smoke, and it has really helped keep allergies down and breathing easier. Filter is easy to replace (both purchase and install).

Doesn't help with odors.
WHY DID I BUY THIS AIR CLEANER?I wanted something that would help clean the air and reduce odors. Odors aren't that terrible and obviously I can live with them, but are unpleasant and I would like to freshen the air until I can do something better about the source of the odors..PRO'S1. Like that it advertised it has an activated charcoal filter as that is needed to help eliminate odors.2. Like that has a HEPA Filter.3. Like the small size and "foot print" doesn't take up a lot of space. Many air cleaners are so large they are like having another piece of furniture in the room.4. I like the fan noise on the highest setting (white noise) helps me sleep, but not when I'm awake.5. Purely subjective, but I think it has an attractive design for an air filtration machine.6. I like that it has shut off timing options so I don't have to remember to turn it off.CON's:1. I have had it two weeks and it does not remove odors. As to air quality I don't see a difference.2. The touch controls have a little learning curve, but i've finally gotten use to them.3. The filters are expensive. I bought 3 machines and 3 extra filters. Am using two machines. The filters do appear to be HEPA filters, but I can't see any evidence of activated charcoal in the filter. If it's in the filter there can't be much. That is a big disappointment since I really wanted the odors eliminated or reduced. For the expense of the filter I think it should have activated charcoal incorporated in some detectable fashion. In my readings since purchase, I have read that odor elimination filters use granulated charcoal and not "coated" charcoal. Apparently coated charcoal is something like a paint, very thin, and doesn't eliminate odors.4. It has 4 speeds. The lowest two speeds ("S" for sleep and "1"} are inaudible and when I hold my hand over the exhaust I barely feel any air movement so I don't think they do much of anything. The third fan speed is labeled "2" and it is the default speed when the unit is turned on. Their is noticeable machine humming and air whooshing sound. The last speed is "3" and that is pretty loud and primarily fan noise.MY RECOMMENDATION:1. I don't recommend it for particulate air filtration. Desite having a HEPA filter it's really too small to do much air cleaning unless you leave it on the highest setting 24/7.2. I don't recommend it to reduce or eliminate odors. I have one in each of two bedrooms and one in the kitchen. It has not diminished or removed any odors even when left on the highest settings for 24 hours. If there is activated charcoal in the filters I can't see it.

A must for cat owners
To provide context, I am a cat owner with cat allergies. My home has no air conditioning and when the temperatures soared above 90 this summer, I set up a system of fans including two at floor level to keep the cats cool. Unfortunately, my thoughtfulness of the cats resulted in misery for me as despite my vacuuming regimen the fans blew cat dander everywhere. It was so difficult for me to breathe, I ended up taking 1x PCR test and 2x home antigen tests to make sure I didn't have COVID. (I didn't.) Desperate, I ordered this air purifier and within a couple of hours my symptoms resolved. It was such a relief. More recently I went away for a few days, and in similar past scenarios I have arrived home to find my place smelling somewhat "catty". With the air purifier, I walked into a house that smelled only of the lilac plug-in air freshener. The area that I am purifying is about 450 square feet, and I'm very satisfied. Planning to get a second unit for downstairs.

Bright light can't turn off, otherwise good
You can't turn the light off and it's so bright it disturbed my sleep. I bought a different one for my bedroom and now this lives in my office. It's fairly quiet and I like that it's compact. Works well as long as you're not trying to sleep.

The “night light” is visible from the space station
The air purifier works great, there is a noticeable difference in my house when used. The sound is comparable to a small fan, it’s barely noticeable. It is small and compact.Overall it’s great with the exception of the light. I haven’t found a way to turn it off and am contemplating covering it with electrical tape. It is obnoxiously bright and makes it impossible to sleep with the purifier on.It’s helps with allergies a little and makes my house smell like I’ve cleaned all day as opposed to 15 minutes.
