Something strange has happened since I bought this book.....
If I can quit, anyone can quit. I was a dedicated smoker of twenty years. I knew that I should give it up, that it was damaging my health, but I could not accept a vision of my life which did not contain the nicotine I needed to get me through the day. That is, until I bought this book. This is where it gets strange: I did not practice any of the exercises in the book, and have yet to listen to the mind reprogramming CD. I did, however, read through the first two chapters, and somehow my outlook has changed completely. I have not smoked a cigarette in 17 days and counting! The suffering I was expecting in the first few days did not materialise, and I pity the poor fools who have to go outside in the wind and cold to suck on their poison, rather than in any way regretting that I cannot join them.Paul McKenna has a wonderful way with words, and really brought home to me the realities of what I was doing to my body - and I can only conclude that he has thereby performed a miracle. If you want to give up smoking, or don't want to but think you should, read this book. I cannot guarantee that it will have the same effect on you, but it HAS helped me to change my life for the better. Thank you Mr McKenna!

Powerful techniques, especially if you haven't already had a surfeit of 'How to Stop Smoking' fare. I didn't quit, but I didn't follow through with McKenna's full program either. Don't see myself using any other program to quit!

Surprised and delighted
I have not had the opportunity to use the cd that came with the book (which was a surprise in itself -- I did not know it was included!). The book is written in very easy to read and understand style with many exercises to do as you progress. I must admit that I read the excercises, but did not really do them. Still, even with my lack of totally using the tools that I received, I find myself not liking my smokes nearly as much as I did, being more conscious of each time I light up and putting them out after just a puff or two. I am sure that once I actually do what I am supposed to do, the title of the book will be absolutely accurate and I will quit in one day without gaining weight.

The CD which was a part of book was blank.without CD book is not very helpfull.
