A NIce Quality Shave Mug
The shaving mug from Latherwhip came on time and in perfect condition. It is a nice size, better than my previous mug which was too big and had an uncomfortable handle. This mug fits the hand nicely. I bought this mug for the bumps in the bottom. I was hoping it would help develop lather better for what was formerly my favorite shaving soap. I discovered that due to Amazon's extremely hot warehouses, the company hardened the soap because the heats was making it runny. It's no so hard that after 10 minutes of whipping in a smooth bowl I still had not dissolved even half of the chunk of soap I had put in. The Latherwhip bowl with the bumps in the bottom did help lather it a little faster, but since I shave in the shower, it's still a tremendous waste of water. Bottom line: The bowl did not solve my problem with my current shave soap but I like it and will use it for my next brand. It feels nice in the hand, it's classy looking, and I feel it is the perfect size.

Practical & Beautiful
I'm new to this form of shaving using the badger brush and such, but I found this to be an excellent addition to my grooming supplies. The logo is simplistic, and the black mug feels really solid. I really like looking at this guy sitting around my sink, and, of course, besides looking great, it gets the job done by allowing me to whip up a nice lather using my shave cream and brush.I think the ridges at the bottom might help the lather process a bit, but I'm new to this thing so what do I know?Anyway, I would highly recommend this mug for enthusiasts and beginners alike because I feel if you're going to look at something sitting on your counter for the next couple decades of your life, why not pay the slight premium for such a thing of beauty?

This cup is a good size and serves me well
Had to get a cup because the shaving soap I'd bought was messy as hell in the tin container that came with the soap. This cup is a good size and serves me well. I'd prefer a different handle, but ya can't have everything, I guess. Good product at a fair price.

An Easy to Handle and Use Shaving Bowl
I purchased this shaving bowl for use in conjunction with my badger brush and sandalwood shave cream. I preheated the bowl by partially filling it with water and then microwaved it for less than a minute then tossed out the water. I took a dollop of the shave cream and put it in the bowl and mixed it with the brush vigorously for less than two minutes. The net result was a quality lather that easily made two passes with my safety razor. I cleaned the bowl and got it ready for my next use. It feels comfortable in my hand and works well with the badger brush

it's not wide enough to get a good swirl with my brush
It's well made and retains heat reasonably well. My two problems with this mug are 1. it's too tall and 2. it's not wide enough to get a good swirl with my brush. I've tried my super badger brush as well as my best badger brush and both can't get nearly the swishing needed to get the lather that I got with the old porcelain bowl I was trying to replace. My issue with the height is that the handle of my brush bangs against the sides and the clanging gets to me after awhile.Parker has a similar bowl that is wider and squattier. I wish I had not gone cheap and just gotten that one.

Great Shaving Mug
I like the handle, the shape and the fact that it works well. The handle makes the difference for me. This is a replacement for one which I previously owned and cracked by dropping it with slippery hands. The handle helps prevent dropping. It also looks nice and is the appropriate size for the job.

I love it
I grew up when hipsters used shaving cream in a can and shaving brushes were mainstream. I wish I’d had this back then.Fill it with hot water and soak your brush for a couple of minutes while you wash your face. Load your brush with a bit of shaving soap — you won’t need a lot — and whip up a lather; the nubs in the bottom of the mug add volume to your lather, and you’ll have plenty in no time. I like to make a second pass with my razor, particularly on my throat, and the heavy ceramic keeps lather warm if I let it heat up at the start.

One star: NOT for cream!
Instant one star. This mug is NOT for cream. I could possibly see how the design might make sense if you have a puck sitting in the bottom, but otherwise it's money out the window. It's a VERY deep mug with a narrow bottom and ninety degree angles between the walls and base. Result? You're holding your brush with your fingertips, trying to get it all the way in the narrow bottom, while CLINK CLINK CLINKing loudly against the side of the mug as you do the circular lathering motion to lather up your cream. Loud, annoying clinking; cramping fingers; and (resultingly) subpar lather. Do NOT buy if you are using cream. Common dressing bowl has a better design for lathering cream than this mug does.
