The Primal Blueprint 90-Day Journal: A Personal Experiment (n=1)

Unique and exciting journal
This comprehensive journal with its sturdy wire ring binding is full of information and resources which will help, support your self-study of your fitness, nutrition and personal goals regardless of whether you pursue a primal lifestyle or not. It is not going to suit you if you are interested in writing as a tool to self discovery but it will suit you if you're looking for a place to track progress in any number of ways..not restricted to exercise and what you eat but including motivation, personal observations, and life impacting forces such as playtime and stress.Note: if you are looking to count calories or macronutrients you will need an additional tool and there are a few free tools recommended and certainly more than that even that are available to be used in conjunction with the journal.Note: If you are looking for a place to write Dear diary blog entries this really isn't for the verbose among you.

Fantastic journal
I have just gone "Primal" this week and did not want to do it without having somewhere to track how I was going. I bought the journal and was excited to see that it not only included the daily space to write everything down, it had all the Primal basics it there as well so I did not have to keep referring back to the main book. It is also great to get a baseline of information and set goals. This journal had all that and was really easy to setup.I also love that it is a daily reminder of the other stuff we need to be aware of like stress, sleep and sun. I plan to write in it daily and am excited to see my progress. I am feling better in myself already after only a week.I highly recommend this journal and am very glad I got it! I look forward to writing in it every day! Well done Mark.

I recommend to those who really want to "Stay Primal"
This is a high quality, spiral-bound notebook that is very helpful if you're a meticulous type and keep to it. If you're the type of person who doesn't want to keep up with it, it's a waste of money - be honest with yourself.Personally, I think I'd be fine without it, but since this notebook keeps your primal "head in the game", I think it's a nice complement to the overall program. Could you use a .90 notebook from Wal Mart? yes. Would that notebook keep you thinking primal? No.Pros: quality build, helpful notes and tips, data, etc.Cons: Is it really necessary for everyone?

Great tool for self-experimentation
This is a great tool for self-experimentation. It's well designed so that you can monitor your results based on actual parameters. It's customizable, too. You can use what you want and ignore what doesn't apply to your "test". After deciding on one or two "tests", you determine the type of measurements and subjective data that would be appropriate for your personal experiment. Measurements are retaken at 30, 60 and 90 day intervals. There's even a place for blood tests, if that should be part of your measurements. In the back is a synopsis of the Primal Blueprint with PB exercises, too. I've found this journal to be very helpful and fun. I must warn you though- if you're looking for the typical diet-calorie log book, this isn't it. But counting and measuring is hardly primal is it? - and this is the Primal Blueprint Journal not a WW or Nutrisys. concoction.

Definitely for those OCD numbers people
It tracks ever. If you want yo be that involved with writing every figure down. I just found for me it was too much.

Everything Mark does is great
The only problem is I tend not use physical journals and Mark has not evolved into utilizing apps yet so I am ordering this one to use as a template to create similar Google Forms that I can just reproduce as needed. I do a lot of self experimenting but it's usually by the seat of my pants and I rely on my vague feeling of did it/or didn't it work after some arbitrary length of time.

Excited to track my progress to share with others
This is going to be a great way to show everyone not only my journey in the Primal Blueprint but also show my friends and family that what I am preaching works. It gives plenty of room to track your progress, create your own personal experiments and does take time to show you what each section is about. It is well written and not vague like other fitness journals I have come across.

What I was afraid of...
I've been trying to find a decent pre-made workout journal for the types of workouts that I do... Unfortunately, everything on the market is geared toward the health-gym three-sets-of-ten-and-lots-of-cardio mentality (I'm looking at you, BodyMinder). I have greatly enjoyed Mark's previous books, and was hoping, given his reliance on calisthenics and sprinting, that he would make a superior product. In some respects he has, but most of the book is dedicated specifically to HIS 90-day program. Even if I were new to nutrition and exercise and really needed a day-by-day explanation of what I was supposed to be doing, I would only need to buy it once and never again. As it is, I didn't need to buy it the first time.

90 Day easy to use Journal
An exceptional tool and helps focus your mind on what you are eating, how you are exercising, sleep patterns etc and throws some interesting light on certain things or behaviours which could be affecting you which you had previously not noticed. As the book is rather heavy it is quite useful to use in conjunction with an app such as myfitnesspal or some such but is a great investment if you truly wish to invest time in yourself. The tear out - light holiday pages - are a great idea too.Totally recommend!!

Motivtional
I love this. The idea behind it is to track yourself for 90 days while doing a n experiment or 2. If you've read anything by Mark Sissons previously then there will be no surprises here for you just the format to monitor yourself to help you reach your goals. I recommend to anyone starting a weight loss journey or if you need a little nudge everyday to stick to a path, highly motivational.
