This stuff smells awful! Is it supposed to smell this bad?

No. I have never received Quiko Goldy Egg Food that has a bad smell. Smells like normal bird seed to me.

Can I add this to vegetable chop?

Adding this to vegetable chop is great! Here is what we recommend: Sprinkle 2 tbsp. dry (right out of the bag--no prep needed!) on top of your bird's regular daily diet, or mix 2 tbsp. with water or juice to make a moist crumble and serve in a separate cup. Optional: add in your bird's favorite chopped fruits or greens for even more variety! Since Quiko Egg Foods are made with pure honey,and no oils, a large batch can be made up ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 1 week.

Can u give this to canaries

There's 4 varieties under this listing. You can give the two labeled "for canaries" to canaries. DO NOT give the one labeled "for softbills" to canaries. Softbills are primarily insectivores which supplement their diets with some fruit - mostly berries. They can and should eat insects, canaries do not and should not.

Does this product contain bread as the Higgins brand does?

I am not familiar with the Higgins brand, so I can't speak specifically to the questions, but the main ingrediant is Egg Biscuit (Whole Egg, Wheat Flour and Sugar). I boil and egg and put it in the food processor and add some of the Quiko to make it drier. The birds love it!
