Wonderful series of books. I enjoy reading to my son every night!
Love these books so much. Both myself and my just turned 8 year-old son read aloud together every night and look forward to it. Full of humour, warmth, excitement and just so well written. Brilliant! I wish I could have read these as a child.

Dear Santa: I'm still waiting for that dragon (and a proper TARDIS). But meanwhile...
well, well, well - this one's on fire, if you'll pardon the pun. I simply love the way Cressida Cowell writes, but she pulls a couple of blinders here.- the stuff where Hiccup is in the tree and listens to the witch's tale is utterly spell-binding, and I keep rewinding those bits!- also Hiccup's encounter with the heartbroken dragon, its a wonderful riff on his first S-G encounter in the first book.Plus there's some pretty poignant stuff in here with Fishlegs, bless his boots. Much fun to be had by all the family. can't wait to get the next two!

Brilliant stories that really capture the imagination
I've now bought all the books in this series for my 11 year old brother in law who absolutely loves them. We've read some of them together at bedtimes and I cannot count how many times he has re-read them (he's only had them all for a few weeks!)The stories are imaginative, the characters are interesting and funny, the illustrations are brilliant and it's something unlike anything else out there right now. I'd put these right up there with books from Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton.

Great books
Great books for boys and girls and also has the benefit of fitting into the Key Stage 1 curriculum as it covers the Vikings

Bedtime Listening.
Part of the group of talking books I brought for my grandsons, apart from encouraging my grandson to go to bed on the understanding that he does,nt have to go to sleep but just lie there and listen, these books are now encouraging him to seek out similar stories in the school library to read.
