Xpress DBALL Kit Databus all Interface Module

I self-installed this along with a Python 580 remote start system in my '06 Ridgeline using the D2D connection, and it works perfectly. The instructions were easy to follow, and the system worked the first time; no issues. Make sure to get the XKLoader 2 along with this module as you must update the firmware before installing it. The XKLoader is basically a ~$25 USB to CAN interface, but it's necessary in order to program the DBALL. I had to connect ~12 wires between the Python 580 and the DBALL, and I have a fully functional remote start system. The Python key fob is able to perform all the same functions as the factor fob, and then some. The DBALL also does not require you to sacrifice a transponder key to work, which is nice. I couldn't be happier with how the system functions.

Dei is the best for add on security and convenience. Their dball covers a ton of vehicles and reduces the wiring nightmare of installation. Once I had to reprogram the module after the system became unresponsive after a year of problem free use, but it may not have been due to module's fault. For noobs, go to xpresskit.Com for applications and you will need to get the xkloader (30 dollars on amazon) to program this module for your vehicle.

I ordered this Module expecting it to read the key and configure itself to work with MY car. well it does not work that way. This needs to updated with the Firmware to your specific car. How do you update? you NEED to buy a programmer or go pay $30 in a shop. I bought the programmer and it works great.This Module requires XLOADER 2 (will not work with XLOADER). Only a few wires need to be connected to the car. All the functions work well.

This item seems to work OK now. Could not get software to connect using my old XP machine...although instructions say it will. Once installed on Windows 7 machine I was able to get it to work. Not great instructions on what options to check/change for specific vehicles. I guess if you use it regularly you will figure it out but for a first time user it was confusing.

Unit works as expected. Wiring is very easy when used with a Viper 5301, the D2D is the option to use. Future buyers of this product must be aware that unit must be programmed and this requires either a shop that will do it for you or purchase of the USB adapter. GM users also need to know exactly which firmware version they are wiring the unit to.

First, to their credit, their tech support email was great! They answered each question I had quickly and thoroughly!You NEED the XKLOADER2 to program this. If you buy it from some other places they might program it for you, but here you are getting a brand new one with a default firmware for some car. The web site will tell you what car it is.The Python 4203P starter does NOT receive a tach signal from this over the D2D connection. That isn't documented anywhere, and would have saved me a lot of time.The DBALL can "FLASH" the parking lights, but not keep them on in my car. So when the car starts, the parking lights are not on. No biggie, but it wasn't documented either.This unit does provide the brake, tach, parking light (flash) and key bypass for my 2007 Nissan Quest though. That saved me a lot of extra wiring in the car.(The instructions (again, on the web site) say it provides "hood pin" but there IS NO hood pin in my car (as confirmed by the shop manual), so that does have to be installed.)One thing the DBALL DOES do in my car, is briefly interrupt the "auto headlight" signal after the car shuts off. Otherwise they would stay on until the battery dies. This requires extra wiring, but without it, the installation would either prevent me from using the "AUTO" headlight feature, or risk running my battery down. I'm not sure if other bypass modules do this or not.There ARE other bypass module options out there, so do your research.

Lets just start with it did not work on my 2005 Dodge Ram though the manual said it did. After 2 hrs on the phone with Xpresskit (1hr of it on hold) it was determined that they had made a mistake and that the unit is not compatible with my truck. They also offer no exchange to a unit that would work and I had to buy a different unit. So because of their poor customer service I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this product to anyone.Save your money and buy a cheaper unit that works with your car model and don't put your trust on the Xpresskit compatibility chart since apparently they don't check it with the actual vehicles.

This product was not as cheaply made as I first thought. I took it out of the box, which comes with all of the connections needed for your install by the way, and I was amazed at the quality of this little thing. The pictures shown on the site makes this module look bigger than it really is!!! I will recommend to others and will be purchasing another one for my other vehicle!!!
