Is it microwave safe?

Probably not if it’s got gold trimmings as they will have some metal in them. Best to read the instructions that should be with the set. Check the bottom of the cups etc as it would say there too.

Is there seriously NO saucers

No saucers. Exactly as described in the description and as shown in the photo. They are mugs which are decorative in themselves so no need for saucers. If you’re thinking because each mug has a spoon, easy enough to supply a spoon rest to put the used spoons on, if all are used.

What material is the tray?

Does this come gift boxed?

It would be nice if it did but it doesn't. Comes in a cardboard box but very safely packaged. I just gift wrapped the box

Crappy quality, lid falls off the teapot

As seen in the video, the teapot lid is loose and falls off when you “pretend” pour the tea. Recipe for disaster at a tea party. The other picture shows a mark in the lid that won’t rub off which is just poor quality from a brand new set.
