ARANA Tailgate Assist Shock Soft Open for F250 F350 Super Duty 2017-2026

This was the very first thing I added to my Ford Maverick and honestly it feels like something that should have come standard from the factory.The slow-open feature makes a huge difference compared to the stock tailgate just dropping and slamming down. It’s one of those small upgrades that immediately makes the truck feel more refined and nicer to use day to day.Installation was extremely easy and the price is low enough that it’s hard to come up with a reason not to do it if you own a Maverick. Took very little time and worked correctly right away.The only real tradeoff is that you lose one of the tie-down attachment points on the tailgate itself. In practice though, the Maverick already has so many bed attachment and tie-down options that I haven’t missed it at all.One thing I was slightly worried about after installation was whether the tailgate would still support the half-open position for hauling sheet goods like plywood. Thankfully it still works perfectly fine. I actually realized I hadn’t thought about that until I was already standing in a parking lot with a sheet of plywood wondering if I’d made a mistake, but no issues there whatsoever.Overall this is a simple, cheap, and genuinely worthwhile quality-of-life upgrade for the Maverick.

I just installed this in less then 10 minutes on a new 2026 ford f350 super duty xl srw. I had to remove 1 bracket that looks to be an odd tie down. Perfect fit, works great, super easy install.

Fit my ford maverick nicely. I installed on 2 mavricks today. The install was easy and straight forward - with one exception. The T50 provided would not stay secure in the screw. I ended up using my Craftsman T50 which worked a better. Otherwise the tools provided worked well. Time will tell on quality and durability. The black paint used did seem to chip easily when I dropped one of the brackets. I hope the paint holds up. If not it is simple enough to remove and repaint.

Does what it should and fits perfect. Took me about 10 minutes to install. I recommend highly.

This is a great solution to handle opening your Mav tailgate with one hand. If I try open the tailgate while holding something in the other hand, the tailgate can come down quickly. With this product, it comes down easy and I don't have to worry about my grandkids opening the tailgate anymore.>>> NOTE <<< For an easier installation, make sure you have some WD-40, SuperZilla, or some other good penetrating oil as well as paper towel, a hammer and a long-handled pair of sturdy pliers like channel-locks. You have to remove the stud where the tailgate cable anchors to the truck bed. That stud has a slightly outward bowed washer that makes contact with the bed only on the outer edge of the washer (it adds a bit of compression for a good hold). Spray the penetrating oil all around the edge of the washer and hit the stud head-on with the hammer to help the lubricant to work its way in. I'm pretty sure the stud was installed at the factory with an air wrench, so it's torqued in there pretty good. Use the supplied T50 wrench to unscrew the stud but also use the channel-lock pliers at the far end of the T50 wrench to add leverage, otherwise you probably won't be able to loosen and remove it. Once that stud is removed, it's pretty easy from that point on. Use the paper towel to wipe off any remaining penetrating oil from the truck's paint. The paint on the product brackets looks very good and should hold up nicely.

The 2011 F150 Platinum tailgate is heavy! This soft assist lets the tailgate down gently. Very easy to install, about 20 minutes. If you want to save wear and tear on your tail gate and your arms get this item, it works great!

I would rate this tailgate assist a 5-star if I didn't have to use a die grinder to reshape the bracket mounting hole to allow the bolt to fit. It only took me a few minutes to modify the plate rather than go through the return process. If you don't have a die grinder, a round file will also work.Actual install went great, and it works well.Hopefully the manufacturer will modify the bracket to fit perfectly.

Did not fit my truck, had to purchase an OEM one.

Fonctionne bien dans l'ensemble et s'installe facilement. Par contre je ne recommande pas dans les endroits où il fait froid en dessous de 0 degrés car le cylindre ne fonctionne vraiment pas bien
