Beautiful, emotional, compelling - and very accurate.
My kids and I love this book. My youngest is 3 and my oldest is 8 - and they deeply enjoyed the beautiful pictures and compelling story. I enjoyed that it was so biblically accurate - and I'm a stickler for accuracy. I don't like most children's bibles or Bible stories because they change the histories too much. This book really paid attention to drawing out the emotion surrounding such a grave event, as well - showing Noah pondering sadly the destruction of that beautiful earth he had once lived upon. Several pages fold out to make a giant spread of the ark's interior, filled with animals and provisions. And at the end are several appendices that give you a better idea of the great size, shape, and scope of the ark! A fantastic book and a must for children's home libraries.

Good book
This is the 2nd time I bought this book. The paper quality is good and the illustrations are real like so kids are able to really visualize the content.

A Perfect Find
My 6 year old grandson specifically asked for a book about Noah. After searching every bookstore within 50 miles and finding only the cartoonish type board books, or "legends" or no books at all. I ordered another book by Rein Poortlet and it was too adult (although it also is a beautiful book and very thought provoking).....and still not finding exactly what I was looking for........I ordered this book and prayed that it would be "THE BOOK." The book was delivered yesterday and it is "PERFECT." The language may be a bit over his head, but when read to him it can be paraphrased or how about this one.......explained. Mr. Looney's illustrations are beautiful......not your typical baby book animals marching in 2 by 2.......giraffes, lions, and elephants hanging over the sides of the ark.....but dogs and cats, birds, and even mammoths. The diversity is wonderful. This is "the Book" I was looking for. Beautifully written and illustrated, definately not your typical cartoonish story of Noah. The Ark is presented as it is described in the Holy Scriptures. I am going to purchase a second copy for my bookshelf.

The True Story of Noah's Ark (with audio CD and pull-out spread)
If you don't like things that mess with thinking outside the box-DON'T BUY THIS! It's awesome, presents a much more accurate torah/bible account of the flood than any other children's book I've found...My husband told my son we'd get him a "better" Noah's ark book, because we had been given a "Scholastic" one that was terrible (althoug it did have really nice pictures). I came across this and almost couldn't believe it, I was so surprised. I think for the money, the info in here and the fact that it comes with the cd, it's a great buy(haven't watched the cd yet though)! The pictures are done on the computer I guess, or atleast in part, but have wonderful detail and they are very well done!! I think it can be hard to accept the way God says things happened, since we are so used to the fairy tale version of this stroy (you know, a cure little regular looking ship and a few safari looking animals pairs)...if you are ready to think about what it would have really been like-in real life, and you want to encourage this in your kids, then this is the book to get! One reviewer complained because there were "dinosaurs" on the ark in this book, (uhem!)the bible does talk about dinosaurs-the name God gave them is "dragons"...And that was their name until the 1800's ;) I don't mean to offend, just stating the facts of history...ever notice how every culture has "dragons" in their art and stories, hmmm ;) Given that particular reviewers' other comments, it seemed like she had an issue witht he author (IDK-might be just my impression, I could be wrong)?Anyways, I was looking for a "better" Noah's Ark book and this deliverd!

Excellent & Engaging Biblical Account
We purchased this book as part of the Tapestry of Grace homeschool curriculum for this year and it has been one of our favorite selections. I read this aloud to my younger children and then they and my older children enjoyed listening to the CD. My four year old has asked for it several times. We have a number of Noah's Ark stories and this is by far the most accurate. When the text infers something that isn't directly indicated in the Biblical account, they indicate this by stating "This MAY have happened" (emphasis mine) or something to that effect. The pictures are beautiful and take children (and adults!) beyond the playskool cutesy image of this true Biblical account. Our copy is missing so I am ready to shell out again for this book as it is definitely something I want in our library. I plan on purchasing additional copies for gift giving.

Wonderful but purchase the hardcopy.
A beautifully written and illustrated book. It is well worth the purchase of the hard copy in order to more fully enjoy the illustrations. Easily read over and over again. The kindle version does not do the book justice for it can not be read while seeing the full page of artistry.

Well done!
This Book and audio CD bring the story of Noah and his faithful journey with God to life. The illustrations are superb. The audio CD narrates seamlessly with the book and lasts 30 minutes.I shared this book with 5 and 6 year olds. They remained enthralled throughout. Each illustration has plenty of detail and skill to keep even young eyes engaged through a 30 minute story. Where the Bible leaves us with little information (what was it like for Noah to reside on a boat for over a year?), the author makes known his speculations.I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to families and churches everywhere.
