Great commentary for the WHOLE family!
Not your typical. Wonderful commentary that helped my sixth and seventh grader in our Biblical History class this year. Mrs. Ganz clearly writes with a heart for the LORD and a desire for children to come to know Him as the Gracious, Merciful, and Benevolent God that He really is. Highly recommend this entire "Herein is Love" book series. :-)

Great commentary for kids!
We love reading this commentary along with our Bible reading. Gives great insight--I probably enjoy it more than my kids!

great
This is well written and appropriate for my 11 year old daughter. She enjoys reading all of the Nancy Ganz commentaries, and I find them to be true to Christian beliefs as well.

Very God honoring walk through scripture!
I can't say enough about these books. As a home schooling mother of three (10,12,14) I can say these are great for morning devotional time and scripture study for home schoolers and great for family devotional time. Each chapter takes about 40 minutes to read and discuss but I divided each chapter into two or three segments and moved throught the first three books at a comfortable rate. We have gone through Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus over 3 school years, just on school mornings. My only warning is that these books are very much geared to children who are mature 7 year olds to adult. High schoolers will not be bored with these!! They really lend themselves to family read aloud/discussion. There is a section at the back with activities for little ones, review/discussion questions, hymns and various assignments.Nancy does a fantastic job of revealing Old Testament message in light of the New Testament which thoroughlty enriches the study. Nancy uses so much scripture in the Genesis and Exodus books that we did not practice reading the scripture first - it became too redundant. There were a few passages where we went back and read scripture to confirm what she said and had not ever remembered reading those facts!Nancy adds much rich commentary without adding creative imaginings. She is always seeking to show God's love, sovereignty, and holiness. Thanks Nancy for all the work and I pray God continues to inspire you to keep working through all the books of the Old Testament.

rich devotion
I agree with Bossier City lady. This is a fantastic curriculum. We have spread ours out over two years and will start Numbers for year three. I even asked my 9 year old son if he was getting bored with this study and if he would like to change studies. He said absolutely not. He wanted to go on to Numbers and said he hopes she will write more. So, I can highly recommend this series.
