perfect for personal transformation, healing, and psychological work
If you are interested in using Tarot as a tool for healing and self-development, or just to spark some creative insight, this book is the absolute best on the market, hands down. I own a bunch of Tarot books and this is the one that has become my default. Liz Worth takes the traditional meanings of the cards and reinterprets them so they are extremely applicable to our day-to-day life. For each card in the deck (INCLUDING every single minor arcana card, which most books neglect) she devotes 6-8 pages of different ideas, suggestions, and insights to spark your inspiration. And at the end of every card are 10 questions that help you get to the heart of what the card might be speaking to as far as applying it to your own situation. They serve as perfect topics for meditation or journaling prompts. This isn't fluff, though- there's some hard hitting stuff in here. This book has been so tremendous for me- it's helped me take Tarot, which I had been using as sort of a boost for inspiration and a tool for meditation, and really utilize it as a tool for growth and insight into my own attitudes and behaviors. There's a lot of information in this book that really makes me see things in a different perspective.I can't recommend this book enough- if I only could have one book on Tarot, it would be this. If you're looking for traditional meanings for RWS/Thoth or want a run down on esoteric approach and symbolism, this may not be the book for you, but if you want to use Tarot as a way to widen your perspective and work towards healing some personal dark spots, this is absolutely the best book you can get for that.

Exactly what I needed.
I just started learning tarot and had been following advice to start a tarot journal and write my own interpretations of the cards. This has been great, but there have been many times where I have wanted to know what a more traditional interpretation might be. My only problem is that I am using the Shadowscapes Tarot Deck which is Rider-Waite based but is not the traditional Rider-Waite deck. This means that the standard tarot explanation books don't really meet my needs for the moment. After seeing Benebell Wen's recent blog post review of this book I purchased it. It is exactly what I was hoping to find. I like the affirmations and that the book doesn't have spreads and everything else. It is just a general review of the cards that can be used with any deck, but it is still pretty darn thorough. As a complete beginner, this is really helping me to develop my own interpretations and not feel like I have to see and memorize every last detail of a particular deck in order to read tarot. While this will not be my only tarot book, I am really satisfied with it as my first. If you want more detail, please refer to Benebell Wen's review on her blog.

10 stars
This is my favorite book for interpreting tarot readings. The author has a fresh take and helps the reader with insightful questions. The interpretation for each card includes categorical options, such as love, career, etc. If you're looking for extensive information on tarot theory and history, look elsewhere, but if you want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the cards, this is the best I've found. The only drawback is that it's not available on Kindle (yet!), but I keep trying.

Goes a straight for the heart of the matter. Love it !!!
I have been reading the Tarot for 3 years and so far this is one of my favorite books for cards interpretations. I love the modern take Liz Worth has in each card for different kinds of reading such love and relationships, health, career oriented. I am not a seasoned reader but I am sure anyone can get one or two great teachings about tarot.* Edit: This book is fantastic. For every day life readings. I absolutely love this book. Uncomplicated and it makes sense! It goes straight to the heart of the matter. Practical! This book is not a key words book. This book plants seeds in your mind to go deeper in your reading. It stimulates your intuition and perhaps your share extra sensorial abilities. When my readings feel flat this is my go “place” to see a reading, a card from a completely different perspective.

Highly recommended
As someone who's beginning to learn tarot, this book is well-organized and packed with great information on how the card meanings might relate to career, relationships, challenges, and other possible situations. I love how the chapter titles for each card include a key phrase/saying. This has helped me a lot in remembering the overarching theme of each card. I'm currently using the Llewelyn deck with the book and find that the book descriptions coincide really well with the imagery in my deck, which is based on RWS. I also really appreciate Liz Worth's use of plain language to make the information accessible to all readers. This is a great resource that lays out the important foundations for tarot while encouraging readers to practice using their intuition and not just rote memorization to interpret the cards.

Amazing reference book
This book is incredibly useful -- it offers 4-5 pages of text on each card, and you can use it with any deck. Worth gives us an intention statement (from the card's point of view), an affirmation, an in-depth description of meaning, and what the card could mean when it's in a challenging position in the spread, in a career spread, in a love or relationship spread, and more. Well "worth" the money and one of my favorite and most-used reference books. Very helpful for getting insights on a "card of the day" draw. Highly recommended!
