Ok first up! the *Complaints* A loooooot of people have expressed anger and frustration over this series. Not because of violence, sex, or any of that. A lot of buyers state the blu-ray discs do not work. Well first check to ensure you in fact have a blu-ray player. Second, for whatever reason there must be a protective film or something that effects the ability to play. I did the ol fashioned blow fog on the back of the disc and lightly clean it with a lint free cloth. I ASSURE you I did this and BADA-BING! Worked perfect. There are some discs where that remedy will need to be applied 5,6,7 times. Once you have it down, you'll Never forget owning this series!I have been a huge Sopranos fan long before it made its way into so many homes and hearts. Numerous characters, plot twists, and the on screen camaraderie is Amazing. I watch this series every winter. It's great for the family, guests, or something to play in the background. Be sensible I'm not saying watch this with your toddlers or young kids but I feel any family with teenagers can watch this and relate in some ways!

Yes you read that headline right! As Paulie or Sil would say, "Ooofff Marone!" ONLY $109 for one day! I made a promise to myself to not spend anymore money after this past Black Friday weekend but I could NOT pass this up! I'm glad I placed the order before the price sky rocketed back to $170!I already own each season (1-7) on standard DVD that I bought individualy back in the day when I had my first weekend job and God knows how much money I ended up spending altogether! Then they released the complete series in that cool looking box set that I was always tempted to buy but thank goodness I waited for this glorious day!The Sopranos is without a doubt my favorite television series of all time! It's just so perfect! And yes, when I say perfect I mean the ending as well! I have watched each season over and over again since the series ended and I swear each time I watch it, it's like new all over again! I can only imagine how this revamped Blu-Ray edition is going to turn out! I can never get bored or tired of this show! It's simply genius!The only bad thing about getting emails from Amazon is that they send you unresistable deals such as this one and you have no choice but to buy the darn thing! Lol

my other half loves this show (along with the WIRE) got him both of them for his birthday... ... can't say much about the actual dvd set as I only got it for the Digital HD viewing. I don't have a blue ray player and all the regular DVDs for this was ridiculously higher than that of Blueray... We stream everything thru my tv anyway so I took a chance and did the HD sign up through Vudu... it worked flawlessly (I tried a different movie with a digital code before I purchased this one to make sure I knew how to do it first) ... .I can't see taking dvds out after a couple shows and putting another one in... It seems as though it will eventually be all digital soon enough as all computers and laptops are coming without dvd slots... We already netflix... so what is the difference? .. it is just being spoiled with the on-line streaming... so It continues with this as well!! Plus.. he can watch it on his phone when he's on van going to work with Vudu app.

Not an HBO subscriber, I missed this series during its original run (though its impact on popular culture was impossible to escape). I bought this set as one of Amazon's Gold Deals of the Day and am delighted I did. Instead of its sitting on my shelf, unwatched, for months, I watched the pilot, was instantly hooked, and went through the entire series in a matter of weeks. Some episodes are so fine that I re-watched them almost instantly, usually listening to one of the many audio commentaries. The extra features are abundant, informative, and entertaining. The series, of course, brilliantly broke all the rules and paved the way for a grade of high-quality (i.e., non-network) television that, in spite of its speed in production, is superior to many movies. The stories are exceptionally well written; the directors knew how to use cameras to tell them; the acting was uniformly superlative. The only downside: some of the brand-new discs have playback problems, either because of shoddy manufacture or scratches from the crummy slip covers. Rest in peace, James Gandolfini: you hoisted this epic on your shoulders and carried it from first scene to last, infusing its lowlife lead with so much complex humanity that, in Terrible Tony, we could see something of ourselves.

I felt it important to leave a review of this box set as a warning to potential customers. The item I purchased was offered for sale by a third party vendor and was shipped by Amazon. It was sold as 'new' merchandise that had never been opened or used. The product I received was shrink wrapped and appeared to be undamaged with the exception of a few tears in the plastic. Upon opening the box set I immediately took note that the art work inside had separated from the box and had left a huge, unsightly dried yellow glue mark visible. At this point i had to question whether the box set had been previously opened and re shrink wrapped due to the damage inside. I must further report that almost every single disk refuses to play several episodes despite our best intentions to try again and again to get them to work. This indicates to me that the quality of this box set is sub par at best due to the inability of many episodes to even be played. This issue is pronounced throughout the entire series rendering it literally impossible to watch. I wanted to warn other potential customers to avoid this particular issue/release of this box set so that they may be spared the problems of dealing with a defective set that was very poorly manufactured. Kudos to Amazon for stepping up with their stellar customer service when I called to speak to them about these issues.
