I used Arctic Fox Semi-Permanent Hair Dye in Purple AF on my eight-year-old, who has naturally darker brown hair, and we had a great experience overall. This dye is very vibrant and doesn't have a strong chemical smell. Lasts a good time without fading and doesn't seem to damage hair.

This is great! Dyes amazing and long lasting it stays in 4 to 6 weeks. Did dye my hands a little but use rubbing alcohol and it comes right off. Does bleed a little after you rinse the dye out but it works great. I do recommend really good for the price.

Super easy to use. Since it's free of ammonia and harmful chemicals, leaving it on longer for the color to set doesn't damage and dry out your hair. I had gone through two rounds of bleach before doing this because I wanted the color to be dramatic but it made my hair very dry and brittle. After using the Arctic Fox, my hair feels nice and soft again. I used Purple AF and I love the way it turned out. When I say purple is my favorite color, THIS is the purple I'm talking about. Deep and rich and intense and jewel-toned. The photo doesn't do it justice at all . In the light of day, it's SO vivid. Not like "my hair is brown with a purple tinge", but thoroughly eggplant, grape Kool-aid, Smucker's Jam PURPLE. Love it so much. I have really thick bra-strap length locs and it only took 1.5 of the 8oz bottles to do my whole head roots to tips. For context, with most box dyes, it takes 4 to 5 boxes to do my whole head. It took a bit of time and effort to rinse thoroughly, but it was pretty easy and didn't leave behind a filmy heavy feeling like I got using Overtone in the past. This is cheaper which is a bonus. If I don't wear my bonnet to sleep, it DOES transfer a little on my pillowcase, so maybe avoid wearing white shirts when using this. Overall, highly recommend.

Did a great job of dying my hair. Seems to have some good staying power. However, I swear it smells like rancid artificial grape?! I figured I’d tough it out for the hour it took to dye my hair, but to my dismay, when I washed my hair two days later the grape smell RETURNED. My cats LOVE the smell of my hair after using this dye, but good lord, it’s pretty gross to me!

Arctic Fox sticks well, doesn't stain the shower much, and has good color. Caution to use the color block, not the model pics though - the Purple AF color is really dark - too dark for me - but if I'd looked more carefully, it's pretty much exactly what the color tests show.

This is my first time using Arctic Fox and I am so chuffed. This was a recommendation by my stylist who colored my hair and suggested this to save money on upkeep. I mixed Purple AF and a little bit of Girls Night Out towards my ends when the Purple AF was running low. Here’s how I prepped based on my stylist’s recommendation: 1: Washed hair with clarifying shampoo twice. 2. Blow dried and started dying immediately. 3. Covered whole head. Let sit 60 mins. 4. Rinsed with cool water, shampooed, let air dry. 5. Wiped hairline and ears with rubbing alcohol to get stains off skin. 6.Waited 48hrs prior to washing again, using conditioner on dry hair prior to wash. Per my stylist— the color will stay longer the less you wash and make sure to wash with as cool of water as you can stand. Last time I colored, it lasted 5-6 weeks when I washed with cool/cold water every 4-5 days. Wore LOTS of braided styles. Notes: This stuff STAINS. I rinsed in my beige shower, and it will not come out. 1st and second wash since I dyed it are still letting out color and yes, still staining. If you have light colored sinks/showers, beware. Use gloves. Wash hands immediately after contact if applicable. Photo is after 2nd wash. Brighter pieces were bleached back in Nov and were definitely no longer platinum, but more yellow. It’s very plum on my natural brown hair (I don’t dye with permanent color). Will definitely use again, and already exploring other colors.

I used Purple AF, and I love it so much!! It works really well, doesn't smell bad like other dye, and the bottle lasts for multiple uses. It definitely does stain skin and such easily, but if you're careful it's not too bad. And the results are very worth it! My bleach didn't lighten my hair fully this time as my hair is quite stubborn, but I dyed it anyway and left the dye on for about an hour. I love the sort of vibrant plum tones it has!

I love this sooooo muchh!!! it shows up only in the sun if you have dark to golden brown hair like me but I did have bleached highlights which dyed so beautifully, It did not damage my hair at all it felt like a leave in conditioner but it did stain a lot my bathroom stained a lottt but it’s fine I like this so much so worth it if you want more of a vibrant color I’d recommend you use a developer or keep it on for more than two hours.

I use this over my natural hair (light brown with lots of grey) with brilliant results! I shampoo and dry my hair before applying it with a brush. I leave it on for as long as possible (hours usually because I lose track of time) then rinse and condition well because the product has lots of protein in and can be quite drying. The 4oz bottle is more than enough for shoulder length hair and I can get almost 3 applications out of the 8oz bottle (which is a lot better value) Colour fades at the roots quite quickly for me and for my friends who use it, but stays in the lengths for AGES. I last used this almost three months ago and my hair still has a purple tinge to it. Sticks well and looks really vibrant on my greys (like glittery highlights). I love how rich the colour is when it's freshly done. Washes easily off your bathroom, and is easy to get off your skin too. Will cause purple rivulets down your face and body in the shower durung first few washes, but that scrubs off. While its fresh, the colour does transfer to clothes/fabrics (like pillowcases) and to skin easily (hello purple neck and shoulders!) but again, it washes out easily and doesn't make permanent stains. Much better product than Manic Panic or XL Live colours...very VERY worth the price tag

Lo compré específicamente porque tengo muchas canas y me canse de los colores típicos. Super recomendado, el olor es delicioso, como a uva, deja el pelo muy suave y me duro aprox 3 semanas, aunque aun se veía el color morado, pero muy ligero. En las fotos muestro mis canas al natural, recién pintada con el pelo húmedo y seco.
