Why is this so expensive?

Thank you for this great question Jess.  There are a few reasons why we sell at this price. The raw material we choose is of premium quality and is selected with great attention. In the process of making the Spoko Meditation Benches we must eliminate the ones that don't meet our high standards. This brings up the costs. You also must agreed that bending hardwood to meet our angles and certification is not and easy and cheap process. On top of that we must do all the wood working by hand. Yes Jess, these benches are hand made and we must pay the people who are working very hard to prepare them, refine them, assure of their quality and that they meet our certification with Posturologist Mat Boule.  All Spoko Meditation benches are handcrafted in Canada, not in china. Furthermore, to sell on amazon, we must pay a pretty hefty fee which bring up the price substantially. All of these costs add up very quickly. We find the price we are selling at is very fair and inexpensive for the quality and craftsmanship you are getting. We hope we can serve you in the future. Question 2

Is bench suitable for person 5 feet tall?

probably.  Depends on how high off the ground you want to be.  I returned mine because the legs wouldn't fit into the bench.  It was a huge ordeal because the company is in Canada and it had to go thru customs.  No contact info for the company anywhere, so I had to pay $30 to get it through customs.  I'd buy one locally where you can sit on it to test it out and it's already constructed.

Question 3

Is it ok to leave this item outside?

I have not done this so I’m not sure.  My husband who is a painter says that if you lightly sand and Spar Varnish you can leave it out—if you’re willing to go that far.  I would ask the sellers.

Question 4

250-300 pounds?

Accepted Answer

NO.  I do not think this stool can take that kind of weight since it is meant to be portable and the base lags simply fit into slots on the top, no hardware.
