Lodge is the best. Avoid the ones with nonstick coating if you want chemical-free cookware
First, the Wanderlust pans are marketed as outdoor/camping cast iron pans. However, there is almost no difference between Wanderlust and their classic indoor pans. The Wanderlust and the Classic pans are the same weight and the same thickness. They're both 12.75 inches long, 1.87 inches deep, and 8.68 inches in diameter (exterior / at widest point). The only meaningful physical difference is that the Classic pan is slightly more cylindrical in shape (flat bottom, more perpendicular side walls), whereas the Wanderlust pan is slightly rounded on the bottom, a bit more wok shaped. The Wanderlust has the cool camping logo imprinted on the bottom, which makes it look more sleek and modern. Both can be used indoors or outdoors. Both can be used on the stove or in the oven. If you have an induction oven, the Classic pan has a larger, flatter bottom, so it may make slightly better contact with the induction heaters, but probably not a significant difference.I like the Wunderlust product line quite a bit because of the updated look, but realize you're paying a few dollars more for it. The Classic 8 inch skillet has a list price of $14.95 (currently $12.95 on Amazon), whereas the Wunderlust 8 inch skillet has a list price of $17.95 (currently $22 on Amazon).Recently I've had the opportunity to test about a dozen different cast iron pans from different manufacturers, and both the Lodge Classic and the Lodge Wunderlust fared as good or better than just about any brand of skillet.Lodge is my favorite. Even compared to brands that were charging 2x to 3x as much, Lodge provided comparable quality.I also tested several generic brands from china, and I have a difficult time trusting them. In some cases the finish came off easily. I could find no information on what they used to season the pans, or their seasoning method. I know that some independent consumer testing groups have found cast iron from generic chinese brands use black paint to even out the finish, which I don't trust. And, the savings is minimal - maybe you'll save a couple dollars, but in some cases the generic brands were charging more than Lodge. My advice is to avoid, and stick with a trusted name.If you care for any Lodge product, it will last a lifetime, and you can hand them down to your children. My only concern was whether the imprinted logo was on the outside or inside of the pan - it is indeed on the outside (bottom) of the pan, the inside is flat. One final note about Lodge and cast iron pans in general: I cook exclusively with cast iron and stainless steel because I don't want lead, aluminum, and teflon-type chemicals in my cookware. However, last year I was dismayed to learn that Lodge has a product line that adds non-stick enamel coatings to their cast iron. After reading the many successful lawsuits against DuPont, and the book and movie Dark Waters, I stay away from anything that says nonstick. So if you are also looking for the most natural cookware, my advice is to read the label carefully, and stay away from any cast iron pans that have a "sheen" on them which might indicate a nonstick coating.

Every kitchen needs this pan
Lodge is a trusted brand in our home, and it's the only cast iron pan we use. The quality is solid. These pans will last longer than I do.This is an essential kitchen workhorse done well. The size is perfect for small jobs all the way to amazing corn bread. Even, and I do mean, even heating. Produces constant results every time. This is marketed as a "camping" pan but I see no difference from my Lodge pans marketed for kitchen use. Same amazing workmanship and quality with a bonus design on the bottom of the pan. We have been using our Lodge pans for camping for years.I love this size! If you have not tried cast iron yet, this would be an excellent piece to start with.I highly recommend this pan.

Brilliant, love it.
It's a good cast iron pan. Great to cook on, and also in. You can cook am egg, or if you use it in the oven it makes a great pie dish. Really even heat distribution means great crust... Can't go wrong with it, just make sure to clean with hot water and no detergent.

Item returned
It came with parts of the skillet rusting. We returned the item and asked for a refund. We got our refund very quickly, so I would give customer service a 5-star, but not the product.
