A Shave Above the Rest: The Greatest Experience in Grooming
Although I've used a lot of electric shavers, this one really sticks out. Efficiency, comfort, and precision are all combined into one stylish device with the Braun Series 9 Pro 9419s, making for an amazing shaving experience. This shaver has been a lifesaver in my everyday routine because I frequently find myself sporting a three-day stubble. I was immediately struck by how cozy it feels in my hands. Because of its ergonomic design and ideal fit in my hand, I can easily navigate around the features of my face. Additionally, it's very light, which is advantageous for someone like myself who takes a little longer to groom. One notable feature is the ProLift trimmer, which easily manages those challenging hairs under the neck and chin that other shavers frequently overlook. When I'm in a hurry or trying to achieve that extra-polished look, this extra precision is crucial. This shaver's adaptability is another feature that I adore. I can use it with shaving foam or gel or even take it in the shower for a quick, mess-free shave because it is completely waterproof. Additionally impressive is the battery life; it lasts for multiple shaves before needing to be recharged, and when it does, the charging pace is really quick. This is ideal for my busy lifestyle because it means less leisure and more time appearing professional. All things considered, this electric shaver has made my personal grooming routine a very pleasurable experience rather than a tedious chore. The sophisticated features and well-considered design offer a soothing, effective, and smooth shave. Regardless of the length of your beard, one day or seven, this shaver manages it all with ease. This is an essential addition to your bathroom cabinet if you want to up your grooming game.

A Miraculous Shaver for Autistic Men With Extreme Sensory Sensitivity
I want to offer an unreserved, deeply felt endorsement of the Braun Series 9 Pro electric shaver, particularly for autistic men and others who live with intense sensory sensitivities. For most of my life, shaving was not a minor inconvenience. It was an ordeal. After shaving, my face and neck felt as though they were burning with electricity. The sensation did not stay localized. It spread, gradually and relentlessly, across my body. It was excruciating. Even the slightest touch, a collar brushing my skin, or a gentle breeze could reactivate the pain, as if my nervous system had been short-circuited. Shaving was something I endured, not something I ever improved at tolerating. That history makes what I am about to say feel almost unbelievable. I have been using the Braun Series 9 Pro for a month now, and the change has been nothing short of miraculous. For the first time in my life, shaving does not feel like an assault on my nervous system. Instead of hours or days of burning, electrically charged pain, I experience only minor sensitivity, and even that is fleeting and manageable. What surprised me most is the consistency. I have learned that for best results, I need to shave daily. With daily use, the Braun remains gentle, predictable, and remarkably kind to my skin. There is no cumulative irritation, no escalating sensory backlash. The shave is close without being punishing, thorough without being aggressive. My nervous system no longer braces for impact. For autistic men who struggle with shaving due to sensory overload, pain amplification, or delayed full-body reactions, this shaver is not just a grooming tool. It is a quality-of-life improvement. It restores a sense of dignity and calm to a task that many of us have associated with dread for decades. I do not use the word lightly when I say this: the Braun Series 9 Pro is miraculous and has changed my life in a small but profoundly meaningful way. If shaving has ever felt unbearable to you, if it has left your body buzzing with pain long after the mirror is forgotten, this may be the first device that finally gets it right.

A very good electric shaver
Okay, this razor is very good. Surprisingly so for an electric. With some prep and decent technique, it delivers a very good shave. Some things to note: As with all electric shavers, daily shaving delivers the best ongoing results, although this one worked fine on two days beard growth. I can't see when using the the pop-up trimmer, as it is behind the shaver head when extended. This makes the trimmer far from ideal. I have an old 1990s Norelco where the trimmer extends above the shaver head that is far easier and better to use. Battery life is good, and charging is quick enough. Things I would like to see- replaceable battery by the user; a better trimmer design, and a lower price. I bought this one on 20% off sale, but at the regular price I would have been more hesitant. The newest models, the Series 9 Pro+ kits, are over $300, and depending upon included items can be over $400. That's awfully expensive. I paid $240 on sale for this kit model, and that seems much more reasonable to me. I also don't need or like the cleaning stations, so I got the kit without one. The razor is easy enough to clean and dry without the extra kit. The battery is lithium so you will need to take this in carry on luggage if traveling. The battery capacity will surely last a weekend of shaving, but I'm not sure it would make a week. The included carry case is nice, but it only fits the razor, not the charging stand. That's my take.

Very well made, and a night and day improvement
I’ve had this shaver for a couple months now, and it does what it’s supposed to. I purchased it to use on my head for haircuts (high and tight) but have also used it on my face. My first impression was wow this thing cuts so much faster! To add a little content, the shaver this was replacing, I purchased 26 years ago. It was still kicking, albeit a little slower. It really is night and day. I still have not run out of the initial charge after 2 haircuts, and multiple shaves on my face. I normally shave with an old school double edge razor so I’m used to a very close shave. This gets close, but not DE close, but this is to be expected. I have no problem using this before going out, or going to work. I like how the cutting assembly is serviceable by a a replacement cartridge. The last shaver had blades below the foil making it harder to clean. This one is a breeze. Shaver is light, fits my hand comfortably, and shaves very efficiently. In the end, I believe you get what you pay for, and yes, this was pricey, but if this is anything like my last one, I feel good spending the money on a good tool that will last a long time. Edit: 1/27/26 - I have now had this long enough to say that this is a good razor. In my original review, I stated that it does not get DE close. That is still true, but I will add this - there is an element of nuance to using this razor, and once you get the technique right, it gets pretty darn close to my DE razor. I now use this electric most of the time, and use my DE maybe once a week. I finally decided to charge it when it got down to one bar. This thing goes for a long time. This was a great purchase.

Amazing Shaver!
I did a lot of research and read most of the reviews on Amazon. I am very happy with this shaver. Nearly 30 years ago, I owned a foil electric razor. It was junk and I’ve been shaving with a Gillette Mach III since that time, which is still a pretty good razor for that type of shaving. But the pricing is absurd. The Pros: no nicks or cuts. I love the convenience of being able to shave in bed while reading on my Kindle, or on a long drive. It’s a close shave but not quite a razor shave. Because you’re not shaving below the skin, it leaves a subtle, but masculine 5 o’clock shadow. The charge lasted me for 2 1/2 weeks while I was in Europe, shaving about every three days. Cons: I have trouble getting close enough on my upper lip. It’s not terrible, but I have to make several passes and angle the razor from the bottom. Bottom line: I love this product. I was sick of forking my money over to Gillette for a blade that barely lasted two shaves. The convenience is unbelievable. The shave is close, but not too close. Highly recommended. FYI, I came back a couple months later and ordered the cleaning station. It’s worth it.

Design Flaw — Water Intrusion While Charging Leads to Corrosion and Failure
I purchased this shaver with the expectation that it could tolerate routine wet use, including rinsing and occasional shower shaving. Unfortunately, the charging design appears inadequately sealed for real-world wet conditions. When the unit is placed upright on its charging base after use, residual water drains toward the charging interface rather than away from it. Over time, moisture accumulates around the charging pins and contact plate. This has resulted in visible corrosion (green/white oxidation) and progressive degradation of the metal contacts. Key issues observed: • Water pooling at the charging port when the shaver is docked vertically • Electrochemical corrosion of the charging pins after repeated wet use • Intermittent charging progressing to complete charging failure • No effective gasket, drain path, or protective sealing at the contact interface This is not an isolated splash exposure issue—it stems from the orientation and drainage path inherent to the charger design. A wet/dry device should reasonably tolerate post-rinse docking without internal decay. Impact: • Premature device failure • Costly replacement for what is fundamentally a preventable design flaw Recommendation to manufacturer: • Redesign the dock with sealed or recessed contacts • Introduce magnetic/inductive charging or waterproof pogo pins • Provide explicit drying or orientation guidance if wet docking is unsafe Bottom line: Performance while shaving is acceptable, but the charging system’s susceptibility to water intrusion significantly undermines durability. I would not recommend this unit for users who rely on wet shaving unless the charging interface is redesigned.

It's OK, provided you duct-tape the power button on there.
It's a great shaver. It's also not anywhere near 5 stars, but people don't read reviews with 3 stars so I'll fake it to warn as many shoppers as I can. The shave is pretty close but not super, the unit is loud, shavings fly everywhere, the charging base is kind-of a joke, so I would honestly give it somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I like the Braun blades better than Norelco, but that's about it. Then, after owning it for a little over 1 year, the power button just fell off. I didn't drop the unit, it's never been mis-treated or even treated harshly, I was done using it so I pushed the button and it simply fell off. It must have gotten tired of being on there. The plastic features holding it in place are microscopic, now that I've seen the back of it the falling off really is no surprise, but this level of under-design and simply-not-caring-about-durability is pretty shocking. If this thing were $69.99 I'd be miffed, but for the premium pricing Braun is charging I would expect WAY better quality.

As good a shave as i could hope for.
I'm a total cynic when it comes to product claims of functionality, but, in this case i have to agree that the shaver is very good and cuts 97% as close as a Harry & David razor. Like anything new, i had to learn how to use this one as each of us is different and our beards grow at different angles out of our facial skin, but after a couple of days i am getting as close a shave as i could expect. I do have to use the wet razor to go over a couple of small areas under my nose which the Braun seems to miss, but the rest of my face is smooth as i could hope for. Personally i use it wet in the shower and i'm using Avino body wash on my face, which seems to help with the results. I am not getting any irritated skin after a shave (as they claim). The only comment i would have with Braun, is they say you can use it wet or dry, but you (should) buy their cleaning fluid and device to fully clean the head, and not to rinse the head under water.... Umm... Braun... why would you say its a wet and dry shaver if you don't want the head to be rinsed in water? I would recommend this shaver to anyone.

I've been using it for a year now and I'm very satisfied. It's quiet, holds a good charge, and the facial shave is also excellent.

The best electric shaver I've ever used
To provide some context to this review: I generally prefer shaving with a safety razor and use an electric shaver on those days when I'm in a rush. I tend to buy higher-end electric shavers as they seem to last the longest and provide the best performance. I'm going to say at the outset that this is the best electric shaver I've ever owned. I like to spend more money on electric shavers when I buy them as I find they can last seven to ten years and perform better than lower end models. The first time I used this shaver I was sold. While it doesn't shave as closely as a razor, it's not exactly far behind in terms of closeness. I'm also using this on a near daily basis, something I never did prior to this. I do have one quibble with it though -- my previous Braun shaver had this cooling strip which made shaving with it a little more pleasant. The Series 9 Pro 9419s doesn't have it in favour of a protective skin guard. I'm not sure that the trade-off was worth it, but the good thing is that this shaver does its job so quickly that's not a big deal. The heaviest beard I did shave it with was a three-day, but I do have steel brush beard hair, and it cut it off without any issue, something that my older Braun would have had difficulty with and taken much longer. This is going to sound like hyperbole, and perhaps it is, but if I had to buy one of these shavers once a year in order to keep using it, I would. I like it that much.
