Origami Bonsai: Create Beautiful Botanical Sculptures From Paper: Origami Book with 14 Beautiful Projects and Instructional DVD Video

This is a great origami book. It goes through a lot of things in detail. He gives a lot of reasons why to do things, how to do it and desired results. I have not had origami training. I've been trying to teach myself from books. This book starts off saying that you don't need a lot of the supplies and equipment. Mr Coleman says things can be bought at discount stores. I know some things can be gotten from dollar or dollar only stores. (I have a lot of hobbies and limited funds). He goes into detail about desired end results for painting. I also purchased this for the DVD. For me it helped clarify how some folds were done. Especially true for flowers as you want the shape and appearance. The correction of origami mistake and safety are good to. There were a few minor things I didn't understand. I am origami beginner. I've been reading books and watching DVD from local library. That gave me a foundation for what I was willing to purchase.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but it is surprisingly thorough and greatly illustrated with step by step directions for not only building your own origami bonsai sculptures but also how to care for and ship them as gifts or to customers as you choose. It's one of the coolest books I've read on origami that provides a PRACTICAL application that melds two crafts together. There are advanced topics on scaling, selecting props and accessories and more. I love this book and highly recommend it to others.

I taught origami many years. This book is not quite easy for someone who is new to folding paper. I like it and will follow some parts. Other parts, not.

I haven't tried it yet, but I love the photos and the instructions. I also like how the author gives tips on how to make multiple flowers/leaves, unlike regular origami where you're folding one thing at a time. This book has given me a lot of great ideas that I hope to incorporate at my wedding. Can't wait to get started!

What a beautiful book. It's hard to say which book I love more. "Origami Ikebana" or this one. The directions are clear and concise. The book itself is printed on high quality paper and has beautiful photographs and illustrations. Mr. Coleman is a generous writer who shares years of experience with those of us new to this art form. I thank my Dear One for giving both books to me as a gift every time I read them. Hunter

The CD really enhanced the text. I am new at this and have trouble understanding the text. I may be able to make the flowers with the help from the CD, and can use that to try to decode the written instructions.

Not nearly as helpful as origami ikebana. I was expecting the makagami DVD to be more helpful as well...thumbs down.

Of course origami and bonsai belong together! I really like how the author explains his thought process for making each project and why he recommends certain supplies for his projects. It all makes perfect sense. I love this book!

Questa guida è perfetta per iniziare l'arte dei bonsai origami, tuttavia richiede delle conoscenze di base in origami che, se siete arrivati a ricercare questo testo, sicuramente possedete. Perfetta per prendere spunto e ispirazione perché ricca di foto la guida consente anche di realizzare diversi tipi di foglie con tutorial chiari. Nel libro ci sono le istruzioni per realizzare la famosa base "instant flower" che vi consentirà di realizzare diversi tipi di fiori molto belli. Il testo è in inglese ma è di facile intuizione, inoltre troverete un link che vi consentirà di scaricare una decina di video che completano il tutto. (nelle foto alcuni bonsai realizzati da me🙂)

Ich habe schon meinen ersten Bonsai produziert und er ist sehr schön geworden. Im Buch gibt es Tipps, um die richtigen Äste zu finden, Papier zu färben und nicht zuletzt, die Blätter und Blüten zu falten und zu montieren.Großes Plus: es gibt zusätzlich eine DVD. Vorgeführtes Falten ist eben leichter zu verstehen als Diagramme allein.

Todo ha ido perfectamente El libro cumple con mis expectativas en cuanto a calidad y contenido. Es un producto recomendable.

Je recommande ce bouquin à tous les amateurs d'origami 3D.C'est vraiment du pas à pas, le plus le CD avec les vidéos tutos.A la base je suis plutôt francophone avec une compréhension moyenne + en anglais mais vraiment cela ne doit pas vous freinez.Il y a de nombreuses photos, les schémas de pliage sont clairs et précis.Je démarre mon premier bonzai ce week, et je me sens plutôt confiante !
