I use this to clean my Le Creuset. It smells great and my pots and pans clean up well. I can't say if it is better than the Le Creuset brand because I've never tried that one but this one works for everything except if something is particularly burnt on and the a little baking soda and water simmered in the pot for 20 minutes does the trick.

I originally bought this product a few years ago but wasn't using my cast iron pans on a regular basis. Other than the original seasoning process, I didn't use the pans. Over the past eight months, or so, I've been using the skillets on a regular basis. The Caron & Doucet cast iron soap is used on a nearly daily basis and does an excellent job of removing cooking residue without removing any accumulated seasoning. I also use Caron & Doucet cast iron oil after each washing and can honestly say that these two products help to maintain the fully seasoned condition of the skillets, effectively rendering the pans non-stick. It should be noted that the very little oil is needed to put an effective layer of protection on the cast iron so the bottle of oil will last a long time. Using the specified one teaspoon of soap to wash a skillet will get you through a bottle of soap more quickly than using just a few drops of oil and working it into the pan with your fingers. I'm glad these two products are available, as they make using cast iron very easy.

This product was easy to use and works great as long as the instructions are followed. It keeps my cast-iron skillet in great shape.

This cleaner has coconut oil mixed with the soap. I only use this when I try to wipe it clean and there is stuff that won't wipe clean. When you use this soap it leaves a light oil behind after you rinse the soap off.You will still need to reseason your cast iron just because you did wash it and the coconut oil left behind isn't enough to cook on it again without it sticking.I like to season the cast iron pans 3 times before using once I washed a cast iron. I had to move and gave away all of my cast irons, I had a lot. I moved in with Sister and my brother in law bought some cast iron fry pans so when he uses one of them in a very short time I find that I have to clean them again and when I try to season them properly my brother in law never gives me a chance. I get one seasoning and he's using it again and he uses a press (bacon press) and really pushes down using his body weight on it which leaves stuff that I can't wipe or use one of the scrapers. But this soap makes it easy to clean.

This is my second time ordering this cast iron soap. I know a lot of people are skeptical about cleaning cast iron and that by not cleaning it you are some how just "adding" to the finish/ flavour but that most certainly is not the case. Have you ever cooked a piece of salmon skin side down in your pan then decided right after "hey this would be great to sear my steaks in!"? This soap does the trick. It is gentle enough to not strip away any coatings and it is great at eliminating those excess odours. stuck on debris is lifted away fairly easily by the mild soap so you get a nice good clean without stripping your favorite pan. Great work on this product!

I first became aware of this product (and its partner, Cast Iron Oil) during the last week that I was staying in Florida this year, when it was too late to have it shipped to where I was staying. To my disappointment Amazon.com said that it did not ship to Canada. On my return to Canada I was surprised but delighted to discover that they are Canadian products and available on Amazon.ca. In any event, I take cast iron cooking seriously and season all of my many Lodge products thoroughly in a time-consuming process using flaxseed oil. I clean them with a stainless steel mesh product and hot water. Although I seldom used even a bit of soap, there were times when I "cheated" a bit in order to remove grease. This product is perfect for those times. Very little of it is needed, it cuts the grease extremely well, and washes away quickly, leaving the pan clean and me guilt-free. A tiny bit of the Cast Iron Oil spreads evenly over the surface of the pan and so far (a couple of months for one pan) has not turned into a sticky residue. I will be buying more of these products as gifts for family members who are reluctant to use cast iron.

We've used this product for a number of years and also the cast iron oil. Happy with them both.

I just love how easily it removes stuck on food from not only cast iron but other metals too.I'm so glad they now have the bigger size
